Old rare silver (1867-s quarter),new change and rings.

Yesterday, I spent all morning searching near some old dumps, after a couple of hours I dug a good signal near a sagebrush and up popped a seated quarter dated 1867-s. I had to clean off all the verdigri and it did'nt look much better. It is a rare date though with XF details, graffiti and very rough. After another hour I went to an old railroad dump and was able to find a 1903-o Barber dime.
Most of the afternoon I looked for new change and found another 161 coins, including 46 quarters and 55 dimes (not pictured), a Sacagewea dollar dated 2009-d (that was not issued for circulation) along with two rings one of which is sterling silver.. Last Saturday I passed my coin total for all of last year. Best day in along time. Good hunting, kane 23

Great job Kane, that silver is great even if it has a little junk on it. It beats the hell out of the 22weak d I found last week.

Re: Old silver, new change and rings.

seated looks good to me!! Do you think that "diamond" ring is the real deal?

Re: Old silver, new change and rings.

Congrats on the Seated Quarter find! :notworthy:

But this ring is definitely my favourite, I'd get that stone checked by a jeweller if I were you!

Re: Old silver, new change and rings.

The ring is sterling silver found at an elementary school, I'm pretty sure the stone is a cubic zirconium. I would have found more for the day but I had a wardrobe malfunction (My shorts ripped). thanks for the nice comments. kane 23

I love the little ring

Re: Old rare silver, new change and rings.

I'd have to agree with everyone else on the ring.

Looks like some decent detail on the band, and the way the stone is offset could mean BINGO

I'll check the stone, but I have serious doubts.....

Re: Old rare silver (1867-s quarter),new change and rings.

I have found over 400 coins in a day five or six times before, my single day record is 560 coins, that was with a Tesoro bandido.I have found over 200 in a day three times so far this year. In 2001 I found over 20,000 coins. I have found well over 200,000 in 40 years of detecting. Currently I use a Tesoro Tejon and a Garrett Ace 350. If you can find some of my past posts, there is one with over 400 coins in a day including 214 quarters( with pictures ). Good hunting, Kane 23
