About two weeks ago I was going through some CWR of dimes and found this.



I knew immediately that it wasn't real but I'll keep it as a conversation piece.

Oldest was an 1868 Indian Head penny, got a Civil War token dated 1864 (same size as a US cent)

Oldest civil was a 1906 Barber Half.

Oldest undated coin is a 7th century AD copper Byzantine coin, with an angel and seated haloed figure also from South Carolina.

Worn 1758 reale dug in a Michigan yard.

Not sure by some of the replies whether the OP is asking for the oldest dug find or the oldest CRHing find so my oldest dirtfishing find is a 1722 French 9 Deniers(spelling). My oldest coin out of a roll is a 1879 Indian cent. My oldest out of a bag of coins is a well worn 1816 King George 111 Half Crown. In the same bag were 3 large cents.
