I am so dumbfounded, I found this in the street by the curb, I didnt even have my detector with me...this is a eye find ( it just figures doesnt it ) either way, I am so syked regardless how it was found, there is no initials in it..its got a 32 on one side which I am assuming it means 1932 and the front has a double eagle with a NICE DIAMOND in the middle, I am so thrilled you have no clue, but feel stupid since I haven't found one with my detector yet..but lordy, I am so stoked, it looks like it was cut off someones finger, theres markings on the inside that say 14k nothing else.. is this a military ring or school ring? will someone pleaseeeeeeeeeee pass me the salts I am so dam excited..

I just wish it was found with my detector :'(

I am gonna keep my eye out in the lost section of the newspapers... and yes, its been cut off.. I am just hoping not an accident or death involved..

and if not listed.. its new detector time.. omg pinch me.. if only I found it with my detector, that woulda made my entire year.

Okay Rae, what did you do with the body?...LoL!

most excellent find there Rae. Props goes to you. :occasion14:

Nice "eye" find, Booty!! :o

It sure will be interesting if you can find out anything about why the ring was cut, or who it belonged to.

Get the diamond tested also.

A detector is not always the best treasure finder.

I am checking the papers infact I had the last two days papers here, I checked, no accident listed and no lost ring yet.. so far so good..but will still keep an eye out.. watch me find the person, this will be the second one I have returned... omg it will kill me.. as I always end up giving em back.. after all, its the right thing to do.

I am gonna try to find the owner, but theres no initials on the inside, but, I will check the papers for lost and founds and also see if a accident was in that area too.

That is a righteous decision, BB. The level of 32nd degree Mason is not the easiest rank to attain, so checking with the local Masonic Lodge might produce the owner / accident victim. The way the ring is not only cut, but is bent way out of shape, seems to indicate the rushed action that produced it.

WoW BBay! :o What a find! I hope you can find the owner! Would be great to know the story on that one.

Beautiful ring!!! Congrats!!! Nana :)

Nice find! As for being cut off firemen and EMT's wouldn't lose something like that. I've seen a ring come off like that in a motorcycle accident though, but the ring I saw was all scratched up. Very strange. Does it look like it broke on a seam, like where it was sized?

The bling that buys a new toy to find more bling is always a good thing =D

truthfully it looks like someone gained too much weight and had to have it cut off..its a very neat cut and then bent back to release the finger from it.. but.. I will still keep my eye out for ads in the paper on lost items..

Nice find. Everything counts.

Way to go Rae! You bet eyeball finds count...I've found some pretty good stuff by eyeball while metal detecting...its all good! I doubt that they would put glass in a ring like that...super find!!!!!!!

Very nice find Booty.Could it have been hit by a lawn mower.

Congrats!! That is a heck of a find. I hope you get to keep it!
