Our Pottery Sherd State Collection updated 9/5

Earlier this year my wife and I decided we wanted to collect pottery sherds from other states. We have about a dozen personal finds from here in central IL. We were able to obtain MO and ND at the Collinsville show. Then we turned to the internet, and through the amazing generosity of fellow headhunters, our collection has grown rapidly. We are making our own cases and so far have fourteen cases done.
We have 25 States so far,
IL, MO, ND, KS,MN, PA, NY, NJ, SC, GA, MS, OH, KY, IN, LA,CO,NV, UT,
NM and MEXICO, we need a few more from AR, AL, VA, NE, IA, FL.

You'll be getting another one tomorrow.

Well... did any break?

Well that's funny, I was not home when the mail arrived. My son called me and said you have a package from FL and it looks like some one threw it down the stairs. Even after you put FRAGILE on every side. Post Office crushed it. Lucky nothing broke, all is fine. GB also sent some fossils and a deer eye seed, FL good luck charm. Thanks again GB, you were more than generous. sixeight

OMG look what they did to that thing.
I'm glad it made it.. It's always neat seeing my things posted from another part of the country.

What is the last thing that looks like a fancy marble? Very cool looking

It's actually a type of seed.
It's been considered a good luck charm by the Spanish for centuries.
Look up "deer eye seed"

Your lucky none broke. When Gator and I did a trade last yr quite a few broke when he sent some to me. I think fragile on a box means step on it to the post office.

Good thing I put that deer eye in huh?

Are you sure that many were broken in the mail rock?
The Saint Johns pottery I sent you has a "sandwich" look. Its light on both surfaces and darker in the middle.
They were not field finds and the breaks looked pretty fresh.
The "soot" you got on your hands from it is actually proof it had not been in the elements long before you got it.
Just thinking you had very little experience with native pottery and zero from Florida.
You never posted it.. I think you gave it away right?
No worries .. If you ever want a few more just holler.

Lol! All I can picture is the opening scene of Ace Ventura. Dude! Gator always sends a cool good luck charm. He sent me a cool feather. I think it was from a reincarnated do-do bird. I could be wrong though. I should have added it to the Gator frame I made.

Haha.. It's an osprey feather.
