Our Pottery Sherd State Collection updated 9/5

Earlier this year my wife and I decided we wanted to collect pottery sherds from other states.We have about a dozen personal finds from here in central IL. We were able to obtain MO and ND at the Collinsville show. Then we turned to the internet, and through the amazing generosity of fellow headhunters, our collection has grown rapidly. We are making our own cases and so far have fourteen cases done.
We have 25 States so far,
IL, MO, ND, KS,MN, PA, NY, NJ, SC, GA, MS, OH, KY, IN, LA,CO,NV, UT,
NM and MEXICO, we need a few more from AR, AL, VA, NE, IA, FL.

With no till becoming so popular and laws becoming what they are..pottery may well gain alot of popularity.
Especially among new folks.

Where did you find the piece like shown above? This I found in NC piedmont area. It's glazed, so I'm not sure of it being Native American. Any insight you can give me?

That is Staffordshire slipware dates from the late 17th mid 18th century.If I was you I'd put a detector there.Put it this way anywhere I see it here it has given up some nice goodies.Just saying.Unless cob's & pillard milled Spanish coins don't interest you then you could pm me the site I'll see if I can make me a trip. Some I've found...........

North Dakota


We rec'd a special package from North Dakota. Thanks to larson1951 for a major upgrade to our ND frame. Awesome pottery examples, most are rim sherds. The surprise was what was with the pottery. Bone awls and Quill flatteners, Pottery tools. And some awesome KRF scrapers and gravers.
I just can't say Thanks enough for what He sent. I am so Touched. Amazing! Thanks for looking, sixeight.

We recv'd some more awesome pieces. First we got these great pieces from NC to add to our frame.

Then a state we didn't have, OK.

And to start a frame we got these awesome pieces from TX.
