As I have seen these style keys on many different objects from music boxes to clocks, how are you determining metronome specifically? Is there something that I am missing here?
Correct ... its a general use folding winding key.... but very common on musical items.. particularly music boxes.

Its a "folding" winding key.

Here are some modern types of winding keys... top left is folding version.
