is it fair to say that most of the high mountain have fissures in them? is it also fair to say gold follows water? with these questions in mind if i find an old dried up creek bed coming down off the mountain and i dig in the right spot i can get what im looking for or has it nit made it down off the side off the mountain yet(ie not reach the creek yet)?

some kind of rubber coated sponge. its actually trash can linner.

almost like the sticky mat you put under a rug on hardwood floors to keep it from moving.

And you want to use it as sluice matting? That's cool, please tell us how it works! When I made my separation sluice (kinda a finish sluice with a pretty big slick plate) I looked and looked for just some cheap matting...what I found was a rubber mat made for temporary floor protection for moving companies. The guy I met cut me off a few feet from his role and I applied to my sluice. Try searching temp floor covering, or even stopping by a flooring company and asking. Good luck!!

oh im not gonna use it i just look at everything and wonder how can i use that for gold panning.

I love it!! That's what I do! I am an electrician by trade, and come across so much stuff that I imagine I could use. Various chunks of metal that has some imaginary use, or just about what ever I find. I found a 3500 GPH pump at a garage sale last week for 12$. Holy s*it does it pump some water!! I love applying all things I find to my hobby, with or without success!!

Thanks tweeta, I've been playing with this crazy idea of lining the fluid bed in my Bazooka. I've been looking for something that would hold the fines a little better, but washout easily when dunking it in the bucket for clean out. Think I'm gonna try it.

ok so i got this bucket i dug up... do i wet it first or can i just put it threw my sluice?

WET IT! Dry gold can float right out of a sluice!

hello guys... so i finished my low flow sluice or what ever you wanna call it and it seems to be working just a lil slow. lol i found his as it was rolling down. its quartz and the other substance has a blue metallic shin to it. not sure what it is. i tried to take several pics to show the blue gun metal type shinny color.
