Question on home protection firearms

"The Jugde" by Taurus is a great home defense gun. Its a revolver that shoots .45 cal or 410 guage shotgun shells. Small enough to keep nearby but powerful enough to protect the home. Whats great about it shooting shotgun shells is you don't need to be a dead accurate shot. "Close enough" will get it done.

I also have a Taurus "Judge" w/ a 61/2" barrel. Winchester has a self defense 410 called PDXI 410 Defender. Loaded with 3 plated disc, followed by 12 plated BB's. Also like the thought of a (If you can find one) 410 pump action shotgun, it's that "universal" sound that a "pump" action has. For me, a shotgun round would not likely go through a wall say into a neighbors house. Would have a light recoil, and you don't need to be real accurate. It's just to bad that we even need to think this way, but.............

The chambering sound of a shotgun is understood in ANY language! Causes bad guys to dive through windows. ╦╦Ç

I investigated a shooting... intruder, one day. A bad guy broke a downstairs window to open the deadbolt on a door. As he reached in to open the door, he saw the resident up the stairs pointing a .44 magnum pistol at him. The intruder said, "Oops, wrong house." The resident fired and hit the intruder in the right shoulder, taking off his right arm. No charges. ╦╦Ç

a very good friend of mine had his house broken into and had guns stolen 20 years ago, and the officer who he gave his report to told him that he has never been to a burglary scene where the owners had a dog.

That kind of tells you that 1..the dog is either overly friendly or 2...The dog was familiar with who broke in :laughing7:

He did not investigate my former neighbors stolen dog.

Those Henry mares leg sbr's in 44 mag are sweet and I kinda want one but I have no idea what I'd use it for hehe.
I have better hunting guns and defensive weapons, just really like the sbr aspect I guess. It's what the cool kids have!

Another vote for the Judge . Simple to use.A lot of firepower.Recoil = manageable .Good for close in work. Just get her trained and use to it. And,Be safe
PS: At Some Shooting ranges you can rent any gun, of your choice (to shoot at their range) to see IF you like it ,before buying it.

Some practical understanding of the Taurus Judge:

Watch video prior to purchasing one.

S&W 629 .44 mag in 6 inch. Sweet! My son, at 4 years old, could hit a target at 25 yards with my S&W 29. Not always in the black, but busting paper. ╦╦Ç

My wife LOVES her PMR !:)!

I have a model 29 with a 6" barrel also and its an awesome revolver. I could hunt with that pistol no prob, with open sights.

Really good video on the .410, I have the 6" barrel, performs even better. For a home defense, I myself see nothing wrong with .410, that's just me. Bottom line, use what you are comfortable with, and that YOU can handle. When people tell me don't even bother with a .22, it wont do anything, I ask them if I could shoot one round into their leg just to see?, not even one guy said sure, go ahead. Years ago a fella told me, one hit with a .22, is better than six misses with a .45. As I had said before, it is sad we even talk of this thing, chances of a home invasion? perhaps pretty slim, but has and does it happen? Yes. Enough from me, back to "Todays Find".

The last report I read a year or so ago said home invasions are up north of 500% and growing.
The more desperate the criminals become, the more dangerous they are and the rise in home invasions show that.
They don't wait for you to leave, they break in with you and your family there!

Fire power should not be measured by the size of your weapon, but by what you can do with it. ╦╦Ç

Personally, I believe it is unwise of any of us to post to the world our secrets.

I may have this one, or may not! Kinda Russian Roulette for anyone kicking down my door. And I do need to defend myself against that very large bear in my backyard in case he get's hungry for human meat. We're soft and easy to eat.

Please consider returning home you drive in the driveway finding thieves with truck backed up to your door, they are in your house they're armed and you're not.
By the time you realize what's going on you're in close contact???? And they are Feeling trapped...... This is one reason here in the USA we conceal carry...

I really don't care who knows I have guns.... Bring 'em on! The feds already know and anyone else that believes they can take mine is a fool. A few months ago, two idiots came to the house about midnight. The dogs (3) started barking. I met them next to the house with a MOD 12. I don't think they will be back. We have three defenses out here. 1. Only one road in and out. 2. Three dogs. And 3. 4 people here that can shoot well! Bring 'em on! ╦╦Ç

A Russian 91.30 will punch through 1/2" plate steel at 500 meters. A shortened M-44 sets off car alarms in the parking lot of a gun range and uses the same rounds.

A 12 gauge pump is an essential weapon.

AK's and SKS's were pretty inexpensive as are the rounds.

.22's are inexpensive and delightful when plunking, and like to wiggle around in the target.

.410's are nice squirrel guns and fit neatly into a Judge - but you wouldn't want a squirrel round in the chamber.

.380's are fun and light but you'd need to empty the mag to be sure or be one heck of a shot in the clutch situations.

7mm's, that's a nice touch with a good scope.

Is there a civil war coming? You kinda have to judge that by the voices of the fruity generation.
