Good morning.
I'm doing my taxes :BangHead:
And getting some seedlings!
19 of the 50 that we planted last year are still going! Yay!

Hope y'all have a blessed day.

Rabbits and or deer raised Cain with my black spruce seedlings this winter. ( Planted last spring.)

Seems to take a lot of tree seedlings to get a mature one...

Not bending the roots into a J shape when planting (I trimmed some that had real long roots) , proper depth , soil compaction around seedling without overdoing it and a watering right away to reduce too much air space around roots, and continued watering the first year or two during dry spells helps. Keeping roots moist during planting time is vital too. They dry very quickly when planting if exposed to air.
Keeping weeds at bay too. Though I left weeds last year to defend/support seedlings. Those covered with grass/weeds are the ones not eaten...So far.

First year , sleep. Second year creep. Third year (if we are lucky) ...leap.

Save that pure bred German Shepherd undercoat that you brush out with a furminator.
Spread that around any kind of garden or trees and the deer, rabbits anything else that detects the predatory oils from their skin attached to the hair.
Edit: hit submit on accident or is it by accident ?
Anyways, the rabbits and such won't come anywhere near that hair!
