Use to have a blast following the Hugh ships with my little 20 footer w/150 Merc. outboard. Sometimes catching and riding really big waves,that were twice as tall as my boat .

Been caught off guard a few times by MSC cruise vessels coming out of Venezia. I would place my shrimp pots or crab traps out about 200 meter from the sea wall. Only ten at most ever because I would be in a kayak, those cruise ship make little sound, then its too late. Barely moving and they create a wake from hell.

I have most the time I would have my HDS 7 already on because I am either picking up bait from the shrimp pots or just coming back from fishing and will stop off to get whatever shrimp is left and rebait the pot. So most the time it was on due to the shipping lanes, with Croatia being just like 54 kilometers away, mid Adriatic its lots of shipping lanes, most the time lots of traffic but also many currents.

My HDS can do split screen function, so I would always have right side lanes and currents, left side the sonar. Hook a goo size fish and it will even drag a heavy PA 17t kayak around. But nearly everything in them waters makes some noise, plus I always have my little hand held Marine clipped on the back of my chair because for some odd reason, vessel pilots must think you have comms even though they can see you are just a fishing yak, well 9 times out of 10 I will hear chatter on the radio with plenty enough time. But that sship that says MSC on the side, that motherfooker is so silent it is crazy, even at sea.

Yeah I know it is just a yak, but I have no interest in boats with motors really. Love yaking far out offshore; already being out there is great but taking a yak is really good. Nothing like the sort of stuff you guys are doing on your large vessels.

There are ways to get cheaper and realistic priced Atocha coins Buddy!

Just look at ebay. People try to sell their Atcha coins for much less money as in the fisher shop and even don´t get rid of them.

Sedwick is a good source and there are also lot´s to get (for resellers).

This is why I wrote a second reply. I´ve seen it is made out of an original silver bar but in my opinion this is fraud and also criminal because they destroy real artifacts to cast new coins out of it.
This gyu´s don´t have any kind of ethics at all and just want to make as most money as possible!

There are many other things I be disappointed with.
How they handle the artifacts to show it to people or they use it in documentations.
Their online shops are nearly empty to make the pieces artificially rare.
The online database is still not complete and it was in my opinion just made to suggest a professional and archeological handling...

They don´t care about nothing and I am sorry I have to say that.

Ive showed you guys my grade1 before. it was given to me by a treasure hunting friend and mentor when I found my first coin. I did not know its true value for several years. When I met carl fismar for the first time he gave me a value and I was shocked !! It was the last time I wore it !! I now where a much less valuable one that I found myself. if I lose this one it will hurt but not nearly as much. Plus this one is much more fun !!! I get to tell my story not mels.

No. you are absolutely right RTR! It is better to give your $$$ to a guy who was dedicated to find the treasure just to get rich and to support him to destroy more artifacts !!!
Just think about what would happen if many more people would buy this replica coins! Not much of the original bars would survive if the fishers can make money out of it...
If no people buy this replica coins, it makes no sense for the fishers to destroy more artifacts!

On an auction this bars went for 30.000 to 40.000 $. Now, if the fishers can make just 10.000 $ more as a bar would bring on the market, this bars will be gone!

Again, they have NO ETHICS !

Having been in the lab with corey malcom at mels museum I would disagree with that tom. They run a very professional operation at there conservation lab, and are as good as any one else in the business. Now as far as prices are concerned that has nothing to do with the archeological side of the operation. As you know tom all these treasures are over valued. If people will pay what you want and not argue, then you keep selling them in the same price range. I see the people buy them at those prices with my own eyes tom. The same could be said for whitey keevans coins from el cazador. You dont drop prices if people are fine buying them at current prices !!
