Being a quiet person by nature.....lol. For what it's worth I've had a few heated discussion over the years with archeologists, etc....
Let's just say it's a known for a fact that probably 90% of archeological finds or donated ones for that matter never see the light of day in museums or otherwise.
They're stashed away in basements, warehouses, etc....also many get sold quietly to collectors legally or otherwise to raise funds and unfortunately a large proportion of those artifacts are not even properly documented, preserved or stored.
So yes in a perfect world they should be kept intact as is for the pleasure and sharing with the public who are in the end footing the bill for the archeological community but sadly that is not the case.
I'll get off my soapbox now and have another sip of my home made beer....lol....
