We tried now many meat with marinate but it is nothing for me. For me the taste is simply horrible. I can not put in in the near of my mouth anymore without starting to po***
Also the own taste of the meat is complete gone. Many also tasting sweet... remembers me very much on Indian "food"
Sweetness and meat.... a no go :laughing7: :tongue3:

What kind of marinate do you have in the US and what is in it? And is the meat with marinate you can buy in shops are also bad in taste?

Here's another marinade option using sumac what I would change is I'd add some chopped up garlic and probably do an overnight marinade.

Never buy pre-marinated meat from a grocery store.
Best marinade is BEER, over night in the fridge- I've been told the Germans have decent lagers.:laughing7:

ok ECS!

Seems our marinades in the stores are much different....

I know the beer method and also putting it in white vinegar (which I love).

As I mentioned above, all the finish store meat taste like indian food or at least VERY exotic....

Will try it with "my" beer !!

PS: only beer or something else ?

What is the gravity (alcohol) and is it highly hopped?
That adds to the flavor.

ECS,

So true about the store marinated meat. A professional butcher who had worked for a major supermarket chain for 17 years told me that a few years ago.

The reason was he said fresh meat should only be on the shelf for 2 or 3 days and beyond that should be frozen, however, the stores would cheat and marinade it to cover up any off flavors and charge you a premium on meat that was beyond the best before date....neat trick don't you think....:laughing9::laughing9::laughing9:
