NO... I did NOT meet pacino...OR dinero... If you reread you will see.

I said no one like.. heh

My apology, you had said " No one like Pacino.

or Dinero. ". I read it fast and thought it said "No one liked Pacino.

or Dinero." Simple honest mistake. :notworthy:

Roger McGuinn on his Rickenbacker was so sweet sounding. A tuning nightmare. I use to correspond with him. Super nice guy. Sounds like you have very nice collection of guitars ! :notworthy: What is your favorite ? What kind of amps, any of them Fender or Marshall ?
A 1970 Ampeg Dan Armstrong clear Lucite guitar (Keith Richards played one at ALTAMONTE), 1970 Gibson Firebird V reverse are the two I,ve had since they were new. Also a Vox Mark (teardrop), Telecaster, Fender 12, '84 Gibson 31T Flying V, "70 Epiphone Crestwood are a few. There are several I traded or gave away over the years which I now regret.
Kustom 100 wt head through a Fender 4x12 cabinet, Vox AC30, and a 70wt Berringer modeling amp with effects.

Nice list ! You play in any bands we've heard of ?

First time I saw someone famous...when I was a kid... I saw him play a half a song... and get arrested... heh

Tom Petty

In 1969, Petty's band MUDCRUTCH and my band were doubled booked by mistake at the VFW in Dunnellon, Florida.
It was a typical teen dance door gig and I suggested we could both play and split the money.
Well Dunnellon in 1969 was not a very large gig, and if it was a good night, the average take would be about $150.
Smiling, Tom said well that's not much money for either band, lets flip a coin. I called tails, and won.

Probably not, being Central Florida regional bands.
Back in the '60's and early '70's there were several independent labels in Florida, and many of the bands of that time, including mine are on a GEARFAB RECORDS CD-PSYCHEDELIC STATES/ Florida in the 60's ( I'm on Vol4).

$ 150.00 ! It was NOT all fame and glory for sure. I remember playing at some dive and during intermission a guy came up to me and asked if I remembered him. I said no. He then held up his hand and I saw three fingers missing and then I laughed. After all these years and miles ago, I run into him at a nightclub. This guy was famous or infamous in our highschool. We were seniors and he just had to have a cigarette. The shop teacher had not yet shown up so this guy jumps up on the table by the exhaust vent and starts smoking. The shop teacher came in through a different door and caught everyone off guard. The friend went to toss his cigarette out the vent and instead got his hand caught in the vent and lost three fingers. He was surprised at seeing me at the nightclub and said he remembered me saying I was going to be in a band. I was in several bands, none were famous, and one did cut a record that nobody heard.

I later got into the business end of management and development, production, marketing label, publishing and field A&R.
While the music and times change, the attitudes, characters dive bars, etc remain the same. :laughing7:

I hear you. We had a manager and each member got a share, and the manager got TWO shares. The manager was an ex-Golden Gloves champ and so he did earn his extra share a time or two. :laughing7: Usually it was in "detaining" drunks who would come up and request some stupid song and then when we did not play it, he would go around trying to pick a fight. fighting-with-baseball-bat.gif Such good memories.

One time we played at a nightclub and it was NOT a safe looking place. I had taken my wife along and she was about 6 months pregnant. About half way through the night about 6-8 M E A N burly guys come walking in. These guys looked like Death. They started walking around eyeing everyone. It was starting to look scary. Our bass player said he would be right back as he needed to use the phone. About 10 minutes later 10-12 M E A N BURLY guys come strolling in and walked up to the stage. They talked to the bass player. One of the guys came up to me and said your wife will be safe. I looked at him and then he opened up his jacket and I saw the gun in a shoulder harness. The "Good" guys then started to mingo with the crowd and before you know it, the "Bad" guys left without incident. This was probably one of the scariest time of my life.

I lived in NYC all my life. The manager of The Limelight invited me to come hang out. While there, I noticed a couple of bikers wearing colors. These guys were not "Wanna be's" They were the real deal.
My friend told me that they were there all the time. He never had a problem with them. But, from time to time there would be a patron who had one too many drinks and was feeling his beer muscles. The Bikers would always take it outside. The guy with the beer muscles would end up getting slapped around and then the cops would take him to the tank.

Since I am all alone now, I guess I will have to entertain myself with stuff found on the internet.

Been there and done that. I had forgot about it. Had a friend who wasn't a biker, but was on best of terms with the meanest bunch. My friend asked me to go bar hopping and so I said sure. Eventually, we ended up who knows where and my friend said this was one of his favorite places. He just cautioned me to remain quiet and not talk. OK, I can do that. We walk into the bar and it is the local hangout for a national motorcycle organization. We walk in the door and the humungus bouncer recognized my friend and said hi. He then looked at me and said "who are you" ? My friend replied " he is with me". And so we went in. Had a few drinks and my friend was ready to go, and so was I. I was outnumbered 200 to 1 so it was NOT a comfortable feeling. I never did find out how my friend was "good friends" with all these bikers. The closest I ever got to an answer was he said he use to be a "Carny" and was from Sarasota, Florida and knew EVERYBODY.:dontknow:
