DITO !!

Btw. here it is 15.00 p.m and I am awake since an hour...

I know, shame on me for sleeping so long but last night I can´t get any sleep at all.
Here was a deep sound in the air (outside) between 2 and 5 o´clock which I was n´t able to spot where it comes from, that don´t let me get to sleep.
Feel a little bit dizzy now and even can´t see clear on my good eye:laughing7: So sorry for any typo´s :notworthy:

Well, retirement for me has been good so far.
Old house always has a project that needs attention. The back of the property is woods and needs to be thinned out. Filling in low spots and new areas of gravel areas of driveway. Painting, pruning, and soon it will be mowing. I would like to eventually build a Pigeon Coop, but first I have to divert the Spring water away from the the back lawn. Yep, lots to do in retirement, but I don't let it get in the way of swinging the coil.

My heart is heavy this day at hearing the news of the City of Toronto and the terrible news story of 10 innocent peoples lives and another 15 injured from this senseless act of a man driving down the sidewalk hitting them.
Given that I lived in the big smoke for 25yrs it really hits home to speak.
R.I.P to all those that lost their lives-my condolences to all effected family and friends of those effected and the countless heavy hearts in Toronto and around the world.
Sometimes our world can be so mean and strange and the ?? on why things go to these extremes.

Retirement= One works all their life - in this time they fell behind in life - so in retirement they're kept busy trying to catch up in life - so really there's no retirement.

I'd rather burn out-than rust out.

100% Agreed!
I did n´t worked very hard the last 5 years as before (on diggings etc), just sit on a chair while I work and also made not much sports and I feel like my entire body is rusting from inside out!
Not real healthy and I don´t want to think about what will happen in 10 years if I don´t change it...

Ok lets talk about Pigeons-we have two that are just wanting to take up residence on/around/ our residence. Please give me any ideas on trying to politely telling these two to go away before they become a foot note in history so to speak.

... I never did find out how my friend was "good friends" with all these bikers.
The closest I ever got to an answer was he said he use to be a "Carny" and was from Sarasota, Florida and knew EVERYBODY.:dontknow:
You're not talking about ARRC, are you?

100% Agreed!

Please don't become an old man wondering around the local mall bored to death without anything to do in life.

Secret in retirement is to fill the plate with so projects that one never will ever finish in the remaining yrs left. So one works trying to finish and this keeps a person on the go, busy, moving, going places, digging, researching, playing, so the body won't rust.
I think my BIG projects will be sort of done by 2020 these include house renovations, garage raising and rebuilding, 80'x40' shop/man cave finished, little barn outside finished. Hoop house built, landscaping done, docks rebuilt, sawmill installed, 250-300 beams sawn into lumber, evaporator rebuilt to process my sap for maple syrup. and throwing in the chat thread, detecting.....see I have no time to think about anything.

Tom,
Just dropping in to catch up on things. Then shortly me and my wife will bottle up some beer that's been brewing, I forgot to mention that in my earlier message. have to bottle and cap about 60 to 65 bottles but they're the cheap North American size 12 oz or about 333ml not the 500ml that would be mostly standard in Europe or in Germany where 1/2 litre is probably considered kiddie size....lol.

Hi Gold Boy and Against the wind !

Anyone else here at the moment ?

Tom,
Make sure you post up some pictures of your latest master piece. I just had to say it BOOM BABY....lol.

I am here Buddy!

Worked yesterday on the ship grenade to put the canvas back on it. Not easy.... still not finish.

I can imagine. We had many forklifts running and all had soft tires. At the end of the shifts even I was blowing black snot out my nose and I was the supervisor. Can't begin to imagine how the lungs must look.
You up in New Jersey ?

That job I mention as Assy Line Super? I had quit that job due to "Insanity" reasons. The owners were just about to promote me in a move that would make me General Manager in about 6 months, but nobody told me that. So while the owners were in a closed-door meeting with the "then" GM, I'd had enough and finally walked out. Six months later I was sitting in the upstairs of my cabin in Finland, and my lady friend had the TV on (1 of probably 2 times it was on in several months! 8-) ) when a news report came on. Yes, it was a story about the place I just worked at. Forget the exact number now, but something like 32 people went to the ER for carbon monoxide poisoning due to LP forklifts in an enclosed building. I'd been screaming against the first one since they got it, but noooo....can't listen to me, eh?

By the time I got back to the states, the owners had found a new GM who ran that place like a stalag POW camp! ALL of the original folks were now gone except for the Quality Control guy, as he had a family and was afraid of being without a paycheck.

That was my most-favorite job working for someone else, but they really screwed up by not communicating better. Last I heard, they had to close their doors just a couple years later. The "Commandant" just ran that place into the ground, people and all.

Hmm.....what was the question again?? :laughing7:

.

You brewing yourself?

The 333 ml size is also very common here!
I don´t like to drink from half litter bottles.

Btw: this is my favorite beer I used to drink only when I was playing pool.

Most people here like the sweeter beer but I don´t like it.´I call it "woman beer" which makes headache...
