All Treasure Hunting
Ever since the ground thawed out I have been leaping out the door with my detector every chance I get. Wake up a few hours earlier than I need to just to squeeze in a quick hunt before I have to get ready for work. All I really need is to find just one interesting item each day and I'm satisfied - keeps me sane until I get a day off to hunt all I want. Rain? No problems there anymore. I have my gear waterproofed and I don't mind getting wet. (Signals come in better anyway)

Found some older relics - the brooch I think looks to have a Jugendstil vibe to it. Found this in one of my favorite spots from last season where I managed to unearth many pre-1900 relics and coins. Found a nice big old skeleton key too. (Gave my first one to my buddy and have been waiting for one of my own for a while now. Wait is over and I am gonna clean that puppy up good!) The buckle I really don't know how old it is but I think it might have some age to it. Been digging lots of rings (and pulltabs too, but that's the price one pays for rings) but not many gold. Mostly silver and gold plated or filled. The gold will happen sooner or later as I have my detector dialed in so that I find lots of nickels and pulltabs. Found an interesting coin recently - an 1837 copper cent from the Netherlands. Sure made me wonder how that got here?

Thanks for reading my post. This is my sophomore year at this hobby and I hope to do as well as last year (or better!).

HH everyone!

Sweet bunch of finds :headbang:

Very, very nice  I like that eagle button :icon_sunny: BTW, great shots. What kind of camera do you use?

Thanks for the comments!

njnydigger - It's a cheapo GE A950 camera. Takes decent macro shots though.

artzstuff1- Thanks! That photo is of a marble and brass doorknob. Really nice looking in my opinion. I've dug three doorknobs so far and I like that one the best as it came out all shiny like that. (Must have been an entire door buried in that spot because I dug the keyhole, doorknob, hinges, door rosette and complete lock mechanism over a couple weeks! LOL)

Remember what MN means. it isnt a indian name like most ppl think. It was named by Swedish settlers and means " Like Home"
that may explain old coins from sweden and netherlands. ;D Very nice finds BTW! HH

Hi black651
I've read a lot of your post and I like seeing all the different things you find.
It's the first time seeing a old coin from the Netherlands.

Nice variety of finds. :hello2: you really have the fever. Wish I could go all the time too, but working twelve hours a day I just have to wait for my days off. The only way I get any relief is by looking at sites like this and seeing what everybody else is finding. :tongue3:. Keep searc :icon_pirat: :tongue3:hing. The best finds are yet to come.

you really find a beautiful rings :icon_thumright:

congrats black! you have come a long way my friend. :icon_sunny: willy

Great group of recoveries!!! Congrats :icon_thumright:

"All I really need is to find just one interesting item each day" LOL! Thats what I call Metal-e-ill. LOL! I'm the same, if I'm not out there MDing, I'm thinking about the next hunt all the time. Some nice finds!

you found some awesome things. I love the brooch!!

:laughing9: :laughing9: Time really flies, doesn't it??

It seems like just a few days ago when you were about to give up on the metal detecting. Good thing your Tnet family was so supportive huh?

Great saves!! I predict greater things in your future. :wav:

Congrats on the array of Awesome finds!
you got a pile of great jewelery and nice coins & relics,
Those early mornings pay off !!!
I found the same Girl Scout pin a few days back (toasted)
since I already researched it I thought you'd like to know it is the "older traditional style" with four stars, 11 wing feathers, and large group of arrows.
It dates from around 1934.
Best digs to You :hello:

Thanks for all the wonderful comments! (Love the support I get at this wonderful community!!)

Steelheadwill: Thanks for the info on the GS pin too! Much appreciated.

It rained just as I was heading out to do some hunting and I was trapped in my apartment for hours due to the really hard rain - but as it slackened I decided to turn it into an opportunity and check the site I found the brooch at now that the ground was a bit damp - hoping I might scare something up. Managed to find a couple pennies: 1915 wheat and a 1886 IH. Wouldn't you know it - the first time I nicked an IH and it turns out to be my oldest one! AAARRGGH!! Oh well. That site continues to surprise me with the way it keeps giving me these older items. I can always count on a couple good finds there when all else fails.

I'll be reading all the other posts this week before I head off to work and looking forward to seeing all the wonderful finds! Best of luck to you all!!
