Yesterday was opening salmon season on the upper Sacramento River. Went to an area called the Barge Hole and did pretty good. This is a friend with his. Not much gets wasted. The fillets are grilled, the bellies and other parts are smoked, the eggs are cured for future bait and even the cheeks get cut out and eaten. What's really good is taking grilled salmon and making salmon patties out of them. Yummy stuff!.

Packer,

some fine looking vittels you have there. We have landlocked salmon here in the Lake, but nothing that compares to your catch. Great day.....tight lines.....Gary

I can taste them packerbacker. Thanks for sharing...

yeah fano, I smile every time I see that farm-raised Atlantic salmon at the store selling for those ridiculous prices. I can't make myself buy any store-bought fish much less Atlantic salmon. :(

Beautiful! I've never eaten fresh salmon, they sure look tasty!

I am soooooo jealous!
