Serious lack of quality finds being posted. Summer slump or something else?

I've been on Tnet for about 13 years (10 active) and I can't help but notice that the quality of finds (banner worthy) have dropped off significantly. Do you think this is due do less detecting in the heat of the summer or is it evidence that the good productive sites are becoming extinct? I know for me that finding new sites that continue to produce has been a real problem and then getting permission is almost impossible. My preference is colonial and CW relic hunting. It's pretty much taken me out of the hobby that I truly enjoy. What do you all think?

I'll add my observations:
1. A decrease (to about nothing) from foreign nation contributors--and their outstanding finds.
2. A massive increase in political contributions.
3. A general reductions in the number of finds; be they of quality or not.

Less detecting with the heat. More ticks, active venomous snakes, people scared to travel and now its yellow jacket season.
