Should teller be given treats for doing thier job?

It depends. I am a teller and I actually enjoy talking to the CRH's that come in and dump just to get away from the teller line for a little while and talk to them about finds. However, if you are having girls coming over and carrying your bags off of the coin machines then they deserve a little something. If it's a guy that always service you then no need.

each one of my banks are getting a nice tin of cookies and a thank you note(and a happy holidays, of course) for the holidays, that $4.99 cookie tin can go a LONG WAY.

Reading here where people take donuts and stuff to thier tellers so they will be nice to them. Do you feel this makes a difference? Should they not be doing thier best for you in the first place?

I understand what your saying about it being their job, But I just took some Christmas cookies to a teller at a bank in Texas that I only make it about every 2 weeks and now she has my phone number and is going to hold all loose halves and large dollars for me until I can get back in to pick them up, I think it will pay off almost every time I stop I get at least one 40% half.

Yes. Cashing in & ordering thousands of dollars worth of coins for us is NOT their job.

Have to agree with BB on this one. Catering to crhers needs is not in the job description of a teller. Be nice to them and treat them to a few goodies once in a while and you will be further ahead.

I feel they are doing their absolute best for me everywhere I go. I take treats to them because some look out for things for me, I have some that hold CWR's specifically for me and no one else and I get silver from those rolls on a simi regular basis. I dont give out treats so that they will be nice to me, I give out treats as another way to say thank you for being such awesome tellers because just saying thanks just doesnt truly sum it up.

Pat, pat pat, that's a good teller! would you like a biscuit? good girl.

Just finished off picking up 8 boxes of chocolate, one for each of the branches I dump and buy at.

I like to take care of the people that help me out. The tellers at my pick-up banks help me acquire the coin I need to search, and all of them are always pleasant. Plus, many of the ladies are downright gorgeous. It NEVER hurts to give tokens of appreciation to gorgeous ladies.

The tellers at my dump banks are rotten scoundrels. They get nothing.

Dawgs if you keep on giving teller's stuff, they are going to think theirs something wrong with you, give them something if they really deserve it. And of course, giving to a dump bank is much more important than a pickup bank.

never trust a teller

all it boils down to!

+1 there Big fat, I don't think we are part of there job, we are extremists in coin exchange without being business customers who pay fees to exchange and order what we do. HH, Maverick.

\\Eminem. You don't have to trust a teller ever again. Your bias against them is well known. But I hvae had tellers SAVE me silver halves KNOWING they are silver, and even snipe some from other tellers' trays to save to give to me. Because I treat them well. Also had a teller CALL me to tell me she had $70 worth of silver quarters for me, instead of giving them to someone else.

Do what you want. But expect the same in return. More for the rest of us.

Dawg, all tellers want to get close---- too close! The moment you trust a teller, is the moment you get TOLD.

I have to disagree. If the branch manager/powers that be decide to allow me to dump at their bank, then its absolutely the teller's job to process the coins...regardless if its $10 once a month or $10,000 every hour.

I get some tellers stuff time to time. I just picked up cookies at $13 per box times 7 Its good for me to keep them happy. I have about 22 banks to keep happy. The girls at most of my banks are very nice. And will do what i want. For the most part.
