"SHOW ME YOUR HUNTIN' VEST"

I'm trying to find a unique huntin' vest to replace my bulky belt and pouch. The pic is of what I have now, a game belt with three pockets and my Lesche. It works but there's no place for my camera, phone and 9mm personal protection. It gets pretty heavy once I start pickin' up trash too.
I've seen some of you guys that have vests with lots of pockets and they look like they would be better.
So... Let's See Those Huntin' Vests....

Thanks

Re: "SHOW ME YOUR HUNTIN' VEST"

I am looking for a hunting vest as well. So far this is my favorite.

5.11 Tactical Vest

It has plenty of pockets and I especially like the pockets in the back. Great place to put bottled water for the longer hunts. It even has a pocket for your 9mm.

Still looking before I pull the trigger. No pun intended. ;D

Re: "SHOW ME YOUR HUNTIN' VEST"

I got the suspenders at Lowe's and the, (leg/hip) pack at Sportmans Warehouse. The two leg pockets hold a ton of stuff and they can be snapped around the legs. However, I had to get the suspenders because I put so much stuff in them and made them uncomfortable on the waist. The suspenders took care of that problem. With everything adjusted correctly all my detecting stuff is right there and very accessible.

I orignally was looking at Cabelas 'Safari Vest'
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/t...h/search-box.jsp.form1&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1

But then spotted the vest being worn by 'Charles Garrett'. I tracked that vest down to HumVee 'Safari Vests'
http://www.thehummerexperience.com/Store/safari_vests.html

And found it on Amazon.Com for $38.00. Pretty happy with it. Well made, plenty of pockets both large and small, both inside and out. I especially love the upper back which is made out of a mesh material keeping you cool.......
If you order one, you may want to order one size 'smaller' as they appear to run large.
I normally wear a large but the medium fits perfect.

Re: "SHOW ME YOUR HUNTIN' VEST"

This hunting vest has been a lifesaver. The huge pockets have lots of room for pounds and pounds of junk iron, and there are many pockets for the keepers. I can fit a camera in a pocket, GPS unit, pinpointer if needed, spare car keys, etc.

The inside of it has a mesh lining, so it feels light even in the late spring and early fall. During the summer I do not wear this, since there are too many places for ticks to hide and be brought into the car, my home, etc. I wear only a finds pouch with a drawstring and a velcro pocket that clips onto my belt via carabiner.

The vest is made by Orvis, although they don't carry anything like it anymore. :-\ A friend gave me this one. Best gift ever. :)

Buckles

I have the same vest as buckleboy... only it is a jacket and the sleeve zip off. Got it at a local army/navy store for around $25 bucks.

Re: "SHOW ME YOUR HUNTIN' VEST"

Did this for a similar post a couple years back. The vest in the photos I no longer can find one to replace with that is identical so using up my Bean vest which I despise and another cheapie that has too much cheap velcro and not enough zippered pockets, but this post is good and giving me some ideas of where to look some more.

Here is what I use...it is a military molle vest, with a cartridge bag velcroed on one side....going to put one on the other side as well...can hold a ton of stuff, and takes the weight off of my hips....also has inner zip pockets that I can carry a couple of bottles of water.....

Here's the one I use.
Comfortable but too many pockets.
I like the Orvis like Will uses.
I ordered one a lot like it and am waiting to receive it UPS
