What's new

Silver @ face and other keepers log

that is a gooood box!!

Thanks, yeah it was one of my best ever and really kinda cool my very first Bender and first WL ender were in the same box. I hope that new bank keeps producing for me. And I have two boxes to p/u today from my main p/u bank I got that 80 keeper box from on Friday so Im hoping the silver keeps flowing from that bank too but I know better than to get my hopes up too much with this unpredictable hobby of ours lol. But I'll find out later today and post my results later.

H$H!

I hope your silver streak continues

Well, I it was back to reality today. I went to my main p/u bank (where I got that great 80 keeper box last Friday) to p/u my usual two boxes and when I first saw the boxes I noticed something a little different right away. Lately the boxes I've been getting from this bank have had real soft cardboard with the ends of the boxes opening up and the tellers have been taping them up to keep the boxes from falling apart. Well todays two boxes had the same codes that I've been getting lately from this bank but they looked like much newer boxes so I thought that might be a bad sign and sure enough both boxes were skunks.

5/22:
$500 (String) half box #52: skunk
$500 (String) half box #53: skunk

I'm wondering if the bank might have complained to the carrier and asked them to deliver better condition boxes. Idk if they did or even if the carriers would even comply with a request like that but Im sure the tellers were a little happier about the better boxes this week but what's better for them may not be better for me lol. I'd rather keep trying my luck with those older worn out boxes if there are any more of them.

Well, hopefully I have two boxes to p/u from another p/u bank tomorrow that usually produces pretty good for me too. My last box from this bank on 5/15 produced 20 x 40% keepers. And I should have another box to p/u from another bank that I've only ordered from a few times in the past and never had any luck with their boxes but its right on my way home from work tomorrow so I figured I'd try again.

I think I still have about a 4 1/2 keeper per half box average so far this year and this month is one of my best ever so I'll just enjoy it as long as it lasts.

H$H!

You had a nice ride there for a while. Hopefully it will come back around soon for you.

Thanks, its sure been a fun month for me. I know its unlikely I'll keep getting boxes like I have been but its pretty wild that I've gotten four 20 keeper or better boxes from three different banks this month. I'll just enjoy it as long as it lasts. :)

Hope u start getting some loaded boxes soon too.

H$H!

remember...waves. Luckily for you, you just rode a tsunami! LOL

Gook luck!

Well, the week didn't finish as good as it started for me but at least I found a little something in my last half box. So now two of my p/u banks that have been producing really good for me lately seemed to have dried up late this week, but I hope there still might be some good boxes from these banks still yet to come. And I got a nickel box for the wknd that I'm just getting started on. I hope to have two boxes to p/u from a new p/u bank on Tuesday unless the Monday holiday screws up my order next week.

5/23:
$500 (square Dunbar) half box #54: skunk
$500 (square Dunbar) half box #55: '68D
$100 (String) nickel box: skunk (2 x '39, 10 x '40's, 17 x '50's including a '55(P))

I've now searched 20 half boxes so far this month that have produced a total of 175 silver keepers (17 x 90% & 158 x 40%) which gives me an 8.75 keeper per box average for the month so far. :coins:

Thanks. It sure has been an unusually good month for me but I know its unlikely I can keep the great box average I currently have so I'll just enjoy it while it lasts and keep piling up the silver while its still flowing. :)

Good luck to u as well and H$H!

Well, my boxes seem to have gone from hot to cold pretty quickly lately but I'm happy I found a little silver from my two boxes today. And its sure been a great month and year for me so far - I just hope my good luck continues throughout the rest of the year.

7 silvers out of two boxes is definitely decent and it's amazing how you keep finding no FGs.

Congrats!

Congrats!

Thanks. Yeah Im happy with todays boxes but maybe Im getting a little spoiled with my lucky success this month. I was figuring my box average earlier and I've found 182 silver keepers from my 24 half boxes this month which is a 7.58 silver keeper per box average. So its definitely been a great month for me. And I may have one more box tomorrow to finish off the month.

And I've been pretty lucky with the '82P no FG's too. I've been doing more quick searching in my car lately so when I do that I usually just mostly edge check so Im sure I miss most of the no FG's. But when I do find them then it makes it seem more worth my time that I'm checking more closely.

I'm sure my boxes are gonna be slowing down from what I've been finding this month but I hope I can keep a decent box average till the end of the year. And good luck to u too.

H$H!

Not bad! send some of your luck down my way! Congratulations.

So what were you final keeper numbers for May...I'm thinking 160?

Remember, any silver in a box is a good box. It's the steady stackin'...That's the norm. Great month! I hope you're next month is as good.
GL and HH!

Thanks guys. Well, I finished off the month with a skunk box on Friday.

5/30:
$1 loose halves: 0
$500 (Dunbar) half box #60: skunk (clad '99S)

But Im sure not complaining because I had one of my best months ever in May. I upped my volume a little in May and searched a total of 25 half boxes - 14 skunk boxes and 11 boxes with a total of 182 silver keepers (80, 36, 21, 20, 10, 5, 4, 3, 1, 1 & 1). For the month I found a total of 187 silver keepers (17 x 90% & 170 x 40%) including my best box ever (80 x 40%), my first '64 Kender, my first Bender and my first Wender. I did have unusually lousy luck with nickels in May but my good half boxes more than made up for that so Im a happy hunter. :)

May 2014 Totals:

Nickels
($300 searched):
1 no date buffalo
0 war nickels

Halves (25 boxes + $276.50 loose mwrs & customer = $12,776.50 searched):
17 x 90% (7 Kens including my first '64 Kender, 9 Bens including my first Bender & 1 '42 Walker - my first Wender)
170 x 40%
2 x '82P no FG's including 1 rev ender

Ike Dollars ($8 searched):
skunk

It's kinda strange too that I had my worst month of the year in April with only 13 silver keepers (6 war nickels and just 7 silver halves). So it sure seemed like I went from skunksville to silverville
real quickly. I just hope I don't go back to skunksville in June - I like being in silverville much better lol.

Good luck to everyone in June and
H$H!

you may have not gone out with a bang, but you did have a overall good year, congrats! and H&H

187 keepers in a single month...that's amazing!

Thanks guys, it was definitely a month to remember. I was just doing some figuring and from my 25 half boxes in May I had a 7.28 silver keeper per box average and if my figures are correct I believe I now have a 4.18 silver keeper per box average from my 60 half boxes so far in 2014. I know that average isn't likely to last too much longer but it sure would be nice if I was able to keep a decent box average till the end of the year.

Good luck to everyone else too and H$H!

Well my boxes sure have gone from hot to cold lately but I lucked out with some loose mwrs from one of my p/u banks this week so I wound up with 12 silver keepers for the week. So Im now at 302 silver keepers for the year. I was hoping to find an average of at least one silver keeper per day this year but hopefully I'll find my 365th keeper sometime this summer. Maybe if my good luck continues I may have close to a two silver keeper per day average by the end of the year. :)

6/3:
$3.50 loose halves: clad
$500 (Dunbar square) half box #61: skunk (clad '01S)
$500 (Dunbar flat) half box #62: '64 Ken
$2 bill: a very worn red seal '63

6/5:
$100 mwr halves: 7 x 40% (2 x '67 including a rev ender, 4 x '68D & a '69D ender)
$500 half box #63: skunk (clad '92S)
$500 half box #64: skunk
$500 half box #65: skunk

6/6:
$10 loose halves: skunk
$50 mwr nickels: skunk (just a '41 & 16 solid 2014 rolls)
$80 mwr halves: 4 x 40% ('65, '66, '67 & '68D)
$500 half box #66: skunk (just a magicians coin that won't open)
free: '39 wheat cent in coin counter reject tray

The 11 x 40% I got from the mwrs on Thursday and Friday were from the same teller at the same bank. Hope I have better luck with my boxes next week.
