Wasnt a bad day at all, no coat and sunburn on my neck, feels good!!

Found a few things, gave some stuff to the farmer, was going to post the cell phone pics, but seen they where geotagged, I took them with my phone before i gave the stuff to the farmer, just a few buttons, and a undated large cent, pretty toasty but he was thrilled. What i brought home as you can see, none is silver :P but this from the field of the beaut seated quarter of last season.

A nice military button, think its precivil war, the back is posted above

Second one of these from here

And this one I feel justified the V3 upgrade to the V3i, this registered at 6" deep and came in clear as a bell, because of the sticky clay it took me 10 minutes to find it in the hole, squeezing lumps and pinpointing, I even dropped it back in a few times, needless to say I was impressed, and kinda irritated :laughing9:

Any more info on he military button, and the pin, if the pin is a verterans pin? if so would it be the 1812 war?

Happy hunting!

I Was wondering If you Got out Jeff.

Cool Finds !

I never made it too the park, spent about 2 hours breeze shooting with the farmer, from what I found on the button its militia 1808 to 1820, war of 1812. Im surprised nobody else has chimed in :dontknow:

Anyways, when are we gonna make it out?

Nice finds Jeff!! That is a very interesting button!

Congrats!

Probably when we can count on the Weathermen
to give us an Accurate weather report.

At this point We can't even count on an
Hourly Report to be accurate.
:D

nice job Jeff! Hopefully we can all get together again soon!

And boy did you ever get out and make those awesome finds. Put some sunscreen on that neck next time, no need to burn.

Thanks yall, I kinda enjoy the sting of the sunburn, beats the heck out of the numbness of freezin.

That shield pin is interesting...any idea as to the era?

Congratulations and yes you are correct Jeff! The button with the Eagle and Cannon is indeed a early 1800s (1808-1821) U.S. Artillery Button. Congrats! :icon_thumleft:  We dig alot of the War of 1812 Era buttons around where I live and that one is one of the cooler style buttons of the era!

That pin/badge is definitely your find of the day!

I had a friend ask a collector relative of his, and he said the pin was cw era, but to me IMO which that doesnt mean too much (my opinion) it may be later on that a 1812 vet got a pin for serving, the site I am working was gone by 1900, no wheats have turned up yet, couple of lc's and a couple seateds, its rough plowed so working it was a sonofab, wore me out.

The upgrade is already paying for itself.. i don't know what i'm going to do when it comes time to buy a new machine... Nice job.

Some awesome stuff you have there :headbang:

Sweet buttons and nice IH too! congrats on the good stuff!

I agree the pin is a pretty good find. Maybe not so old, but has to be in the early 19th century, I would suppose. Maybe you'll get a positive ID from someone.

Congrats!
that early Artillery button is in great shape !

Love the button. But IP is right that pin/badge is the better find. Hope you get an ID on it.
