One of my favorites to find. I have family that live in S.Md. Can't wait to get up that way huntin' again. Definitely just keep huntin' Makaydon or someone else can help you identify it later. Also there is a cob forum you can post it on. Good Luck !

Its a 1670s Potosi, Bolivia 1 reale cob. That much is almost certain. A cleaning will likely reveal the last digit of the date below the cross. Not quite sure but looks like a 1675 so far.

I knew it, a nice early site. Being worn again & in the late 1600s, I think the site seems to be around the 1700 mark, but keep digging & who knows! CONGRATS, specially on finding the site.
