Also, Plato in Kritia said how the orichalcum in Atlantis " was shining like fire " , statement which give to the metal a redder colour .

While Bronze is Tin and copper, brass is copper and zinc. Zinc is hard to smelt as it evaporates during the process. I was going up there
to see if I could get a sample of the artifact, but, it would take quite a few grams of material they probably wouldn't approve of removing.

I destroyed my right arm this week during a work out. I have elbow spurs from hard labor, tennis elbow, when it
flairs up my elbow swells and I cant straighten my arm out. Haven't had it do this for years, getting old is a *****.
I cant use it right now for anything other than a decoration dangling from my shoulder. I should've stayed home yesterday, but, went prospecting
at an old gold mine instead which only made it worse.

I'll need a shot of steroids injected in it today so I can get up there and see that brassy thingy. I have to make a trip up to Scottsdale anyway
the Wifey wants a new car.

Right now I'm living on Aleve and Tylenol. Haven't slept for a few days. I had a good time yesterday I
went out looking around the Tiger Mine in Mammoth, AZ. I found an old gold mine from the 1800's and detected it
finding an old leaded tin can and powder cans. Lots of Turquoise in the ore. There has to be a placer nearby so more investigation is
required. On a lighter note, I lost both sole's on my shoes while hiking so I found a couple of Desert Tortoise's turned them upside down
and strapped them to my feet. I used Gila Monster's for ankle braces and young rattle snakes as shoe laces. It got me out fine and did well in a pinch.

IMO ,on the cross is not Jesus or an ancient God , but is a miner who are working hard . The miner should carry an imaginary basket on his back and the square hole between his head and the fish represents the mine's tunnel .They put the miner on the cross to describe the miner's hard work like a metaphor . The flying fish above his head represent the miner's wish . To get out/up to the freedom .

Could be that it's intended as a tribute to Mexican deep water (ocean) fishermen who have lost their lives in mishaps at sea.
Perhaps the object above represents a filleted fish.

In short

The fish ( great fish ) and the great dragon and the ancient serpent speak of one and the same truth ... all of which symbolize deception or a lie as a truth cast down ... and why a serpent on a pole and Christ hung on a cross ( also referred to as being hung on a tree ) speak of/to this deception ...

Understanding that being caught up between two opposites is the death of innocents ... (removed by mod)

One of the issues with the Iron Cross story is the dates. If the cross was found in 1952 why was there a story about it in the Arizona Republic on July 17, 1949?

An amazing discovery that would turn everything we know about the Iron Cross upside down but, after scanning thru that paper twice, I found no mention of the Iron Cross. It is 60 pages and I may have simply missed it.

Very interesting Bill. Especially the one with the stand.
I read last night that the fish (as a symbol of Christ) fell out of use by the fourth century.

I read that somewhere also. I think it may be sort of a Hebrew Signa for the Latin "INRI".

If it was Jewish it would say "Simply a Man".

Or Greek;

The History of the Ichthus
by Gregory B. Dill

[Those little fish symbols you see on the back of automobiles.] paraphrased

[Excerpt;]

"Ichthus (ikh-thoos) or ichthys is the Greek word simply meaning "fish".

The Greek spelling for ichthus is [Greek alphabetic characters that look like IXOYE]. These are the first letters of the Greek words Iesous (Iota), Christos (Chi), Theou (Theta), Uios (Upsilon), and Sotor (Sigma). The English translation is IXOYE. The five Greek word stand for the English words meaning, "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior" or "Jesus Christ God's Son Savior".

From WIKIPEDIA;

The ichthys or ichthus (/ˈɪkθəs/[1]), from the Greek ikhthýs (ἰχθύς, "fish"), is a symbol consisting of two intersecting arcs, the ends of the right side extending beyond the meeting point so as to resemble the profile of a fish. It was used by early Christians as a secret Christian symbol[2] and now known colloquially as the "sign of the fish" or the "Jesus fish".

Byzantine cross Acheiropoieta, Iconoclasm?

Possibly a symbol of Saint Lucy? Or the Pope?

The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is sound, your whole body will be
full of light; but if your eye is not sound, your whole body will be full of darkness.
If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! (Mt 6:22—23)

And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better for
you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.
(Mt 18:9)

The priests of Dagon wore a mitre on their head that resembled the head and jaws of a fish.
Is it a coincidence that the Pope wears an identical mitre?

Processional Crosses used rivets or stands. But that fish symbol went out of style long ago.

It looks like a canvas bag with a rope handle. Possible to carry small items or a feed bag for a pack animal.

What's your guess?

Good luck,

NIce find, CW! This postdates the discovery of the Stone Crosses ('77) and I wasn't aware Bilbrey was working with a new group of people after that. The '83 article says nothing about that.

Looks like a canvas tool bag.
I am still trying to sift thru the stone cross discovery story. One report says they were found at Tortilla Flat, another on Tortilla Mt. Anyone know the true story and what ultimately became of the crosses and Bilbrey after his release?
