Wow pnc has a coin machine it ate up $2400 of halfs in ?? 3 min.. No bags it has a large box they use a hand truck.The top has a large hole with a cover.

I don't know where you buy you boxes, but PLEASE remember that if you dump to Dunbar, and buy from a Dunbar bank (Cap One, M&T, etc), you are without doubt adding to the supply of halves from which your future boxes will be made, decreasing the AG %age of your boxes. Anyone who believes otherwise isn't heeding common sense. My mom, said that anything worth doing is worth doing right. Again, just food for thought.

Nope. Dunbar does not own the coin, the bank does. It does not matter that both banks are serviced by Dunbar, the coin pools are kept separate.

Banks use different carriers in different areas. PNC uses Brinks in my area.

I am thinking rerolling is the best way to do mass volume. No complaints, no loud machines, no other CRHs getting mad because you dump too much, don't need to drive the extra distance for a coin machine, etc. I unroll a roll, wife re-rolls. I can probably do 20 boxes a week this way with a 9-5 job.

Just to get it straight, is it correct to say that if you dump at one bank (such as PNC) and order boxes from a different bank (a non-PNC bank) which uses the same coin processor as PNC, does this mean that my future boxes won't contain my dumps because the coin processor won't mix PNC coins with the coins of a different bank chain? If this is so, my life just got a whole lot easier. I'm laughing at myself.

Its hard to say if its a dumb idea to do that. I do know that for every time YOU dont dump into your supply bank, someone else dumps 2 times as much into it...

Wrong. I do most of my dumping with PNC and all of my ordering with them as well. I have had no problems finding adequate silver all year long, since I started this hobby. I personally believe halves dumped in the big machines such as the PNC Change Depot (Which is a great machine as noted) just go back to the Federal Reserve. I don't put markers all over my dumps, so I might be getting some back, but generally the finds have stayed consistent.

Yes, of course others will dump to my buy bank. But that happens regardless of whether or not I dump to my buy bank. As such, anytime I dump to my buy bank I'm necessarily increasing the number of dump halves to the pool from which my boxes are made. This necessarily decreases the percentage of AG to be found in my future boxes. I know there's gotta be numerous CRH'ers dumping to my bank, but I can't see the logic in adding my 12-20 boxes per week to that pile - I've been doing too well up to this point to start sabotaging my own efforts, and marking my own dumps (to test this) seems like a colossal waste of time.

There's a reroller in my area who buys/dumps (rerolling using the same wrappers the coins came in) at my buy bank. I've received 4-5 of these boxes over the last year, which means that this reroller has received and/or eventually will receive some of his/her own dump boxes. It just doesn't make sense (to me) to do this unless unusual circumstances prevent one from opening up an account at a different bank chain, or some other reason I'm unaware of at this point. But I do thank you for the input. We're all in the same boat here, and I grateful for all I've learned here. Cheers.

Please don't abuse it for other CRH 4K is A LOT to dump at a coin counter at PNC. Eventually the good thing we have will be taken away from us!

As I mentioned. PNC has shut down all half dumping in 4 locations around me. This is from some over-dumpers. Seriously, go easy here. Abusing the machine with TOO MUCH or TOO OFTEN will get you and everyone else cut off. You will lose it. When I went in with $400 and they said no way, then obviously someone was an abuser before me. Now no one gets to use it.
Use common sense here.

If you've followed this forum for any length of time you've seen many comments cautioning against abusing the dump bank. New to the forum, take seriously what the vets are saying. If you've been around the CRH forum for any length of time, take a 2 x 4 side o' the head and smart'n up!
