🔎 UNIDENTIFIED "The Fireman"....but, is it art?

Back in early June of this year there was a fire in my shop...big fire, that is, and it
destroyed pretty much everything in the room. Most of the damage was from heat
and smoke, rather than the flames themselves.

A few feet away, and opposite the side where the actual flames were, is where
my desk sat, along with a shelf above it that was full of various things. The heat
melted anything plastic that was on the desk or shelf, including my monitor, etc.
That evening, long after the fire was out, I was clearing stuff off that shelf, and
found this. There was a small box on the shelf, with some objects on top of it.

The smoke left this behind:

When I was tearing out the drywall, I was careful to cut this out on it's own.

I call it "The Fireman", and it takes only a slight exercise of your pareidolia to see it.

It is, no doubt, very unique...but can I call it "art"?

And yes, it's sorta creepy that a fire left this behind...

Well, that's helpful...but it was sort of a yes or no kinda question.

The fire and smoke made this....impression/pattern/image...don't even know
what to call it, but it's definitely unique.

I'd like to seal it with some kind of spray on sealer, as simply touching it causes
a smear. As unique as it is, I'm wondering also if I could frame it, post it up
on eBay and see if it gets any interest.

Honestly, ya never know what people will spend their money on...

If this is Art..

Then your fireman definitely is art.
Iv seen people that bought potato chips on eBay that looked like Mickey Mouses head. They just looked like chips to me.
Try on eBay for sure. 👍

Just call the genre 'Nature's Art" since it wasn't made by humans hands per se. Then title it "After The Fire" or "The Fire".

Reminds me of the shadow people after Hiroshima.

The atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki left eerie "shadows" or outlines of people and objects, not from smoke, but from the intense thermal radiation that bleached or burned surfaces, leaving behind the unexposed, original color where an object blocked the blast's flash, creating dark silhouettes on walls, steps, and pavement.

These are actually the original surface colors, appearing dark against the bleached surroundings, preserving ghostly imprints of people sitting, standing, or objects like bicycles at the moment of detonation, now displayed at places like the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

In truth, it worked out OK. I did lose a lot of stuff to the smoke/fire/heat, but
now the room has been completely renovated with all new drywall, electrical
(including a new panel), etc. Many things replaced, like the computer/monitor
and other smaller items.
