THE OLD CACHE****

Frankn,

Don't worry about what anyone says. If people don't have anything nice to say, they need to keep it to themselves. That's part of the problem with our society nowadays - less and less respect for our common brother.

I enjoy your posts, and encourage you to keep doing what you're doing. If people on this site don't like your contributions, then they can keep quiet, and move along without interjecting their negative poison.

I agree with crazyfish where everyone should be respectful and keep the negativity out of their posts. Frankn has every right to post here and he can post whatever he would like. I never questioned whether the cache was real or not or if he had a legal right to it or not. My one and only issue with his post is he mentioned doing an illegal activity which was trespassing. He mentions that since he feels it is rightfully his he can go on the property illegally to get it. If we go by his reasoning then if I hid money in my childhood home I can go back when the new owner are not home and get it.

I like Frankn and enjoy seeing his artwork that he posts. I guess the fact that I grew up with two older brothers I also love ribbing people since I grew up on it. At the beginning of the post I was giving a few silly solutions to getting on the property then I also posted that I'm completely against a 'night raid'. I thought at first he was joking about that but as the post went on I don't think he was. I also don't feel that if you disagree with someone on T-Net that you are being negative. It is a forum and there will be debate. Just because I disagree with something that Frankn posts it does not mean he or I are bad people or dislike each other.

Everyone that has 'defended' Frankn in this post has also completely ignored the trespassing issue. If you agree that trespassing is the way to go it does not make you a bad person but you are wrong...:laughing7:

Talking about a night raid is not against our rules but attacking a member is. People can disagree with a post and not attack a person.

Talking about theoretical doing something is not the same as doing it....If thinking about or talking about theoretically doing something was illegal 3/4 of us would be guilty at one point or another in our lives...

I have been guilty about six or seven times today alone.

Me personally if someone came to my house and said they buried something in my yard and wanted to look for it I would say no and go find it myself ha ha ha (evil laugh)

TH,
I still feel it goes against the spirit of our rules and metal detecting in general. People have been convicted of planning a crime without ever actually committing the crime but I do agree with what you are saying...I just don't like it...lol.

I will comment no more on this thread.

Thanks
NJ

P.S. You may not.... Use TreasureNet services for any illegal purpose. Love you

He isn't breaking any rule by talking about it. If he was trying to recruit members to help him sneak in or asking what is best way to get away with it i would be more incline to agree.
.

liberty lady.jpgNJ THer. You are really hung up on trespass. Did your ball ever go in someone elses yard? Did you tresspass to retreve your ball. I bet you did. Well I was talking about retreving my property. It's the same thing. Now your example is called breaking and entering, not tresspassing.

At todays silver prices..... the melt value per silver dollar is $20.89. So without any numismatic value coming into the equation, you have a base worth of $271.57 on the thirteen dollars.

I have a real estate license but I am not an attorney. When you chose to leave the coins buried instead of digging them up and taking them with you before the property was sold you gave up any and all rights to them. If you had hidden a toy in the attic would you still consider it your property? If your parents left something in the basement, do they still own it? Anything left on the property at the time of the sale, unless otherwise agreed to, becomes the property of the new owner. The fact that you were a kid, or that it is buried is irrelevant.

If you really want the coins back, tell the present property owners some of the details but not what you hid or where you hid it. You could start out asking for 100% but a truly fair deal would be 50/50. If you are able to retrieve something you buried that long ago you should consider yourself lucky. Of course the first thing to do is go by the property to see how much it has changed. If these coins mean a lot to you do the honest thing and get permission.

Two of my sisters visited two of our earlier homes 20 plus years later. Granted they have better people skills than i. They started obviously with something in common with owners, having lived in same house. In both cases they wound up taking the grand tour. Had a great time and made new friends. When winding down were i doing something similar at your former home site. ,when waxing nostalgic i,d wonder out loud if any thing might remain in my out door hiding spots. Then ask if they,d let me take a quick look if i did not mess anything up and smiling offer them first pick of any one item. If asked what was hidden i,d answer question with question, what don,t kids bury and unbury when acting like squirrels?been so long don,t know what could be where anymore. Might check a couple spots before seeking purse. ?

For $75 and 10% I'll get the name of the property owner for you.8-)

But if they turn out to be gold coins I still want my 10%.

hand print-2_edited-3.jpgvor, Cute, but it took you 8 min to come up with that second line. Maybe your flea is bugging you. LOL

Actually I believe Frankn is probably throwing out all the options everyone would think of. Realisticly I suspect he'll probably approach the owner, explaine it to him and go from there.

i've read all 97 posts. i just want to hear and see if you got your childhood earning back!

After reading 5 pages of discussion....are you going to go over there any time soon?

Just wanted to be #100...

AC 1955, why dont you go to the Offer thread, that one is getting near 1000, and thats much more respectable that just 100, but I think you will have to really fight for it. There is one guy that will not sleep untill he gets it!

Reminds me of the good old days. The radio station KFRC, had a record counting contest over the weekend. I stayed up till the early hours, counting every record, but then fell asleep! Missed my spot in history!
