Bigfoot Trap – A Quirky Oregon Legend!
🌲
🦶

The Bigfoot Trap in Oregon is a quirky piece of history hidden in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest near Applegate Lake. Built in 1974 by the North American Wildlife Research Team, the trap was a serious attempt to capture a live Bigfoot after reports of mysterious, large footprints in the area.
👣
Inspired by local sightings and fueled by the era’s growing fascination with Sasquatch
the group constructed the 10-foot-tall wooden and metal trap, baiting it with animal carcasses
🥩
in hopes of proving Bigfoot’s existence.
Though the trap never caught anything other than a few confused bears
🐻
it remains a fun stop along the Collings Mountain Trail, just 0.2 miles from the road. Today, it’s maintained as a historical oddity and a must-see for Bigfoot enthusiasts, hikers, and curious travelers passing through Southern Oregon.

Once time when drinking Rum with Bigfoot....
I asked him why he was so elusive to people...
He said....
"All they do is make fun of the size of my feet so screw em"

And he also hates getting his feet measured because they are ticklish.

Still drinkin' the rum I see.....

Always liked that track. I have a remix of it on my usb in my car. Its way better than the original. I can't think who did it though. I have a number of older songs remixed which I prefer. Bee Gees You should be dancing and Blondie Atomic are two that come to mind. 👍

A river runs through it. The only place on earth where a river runs in the middle of 2 lakes is right here in North Idaho! AND The St Joe river is the highest navigable river on the planet. Ain’t North Idaho cool!
Round lake and Chatcolet lake were separate lakes fed by the St Joe river. The flooding caused by the Post Falls dam merged the lakes along with Lake CDA. CdA lake level was raised substantially.

Astoria’s Riverwalk is a scenic path that follows the Columbia River, built along an old railroad line that once supported the town’s bustling maritime trade. Stretching past historic canneries, waterfront restaurants, and active docks, the trail offers a front-row seat to the constant movement of massive cargo ships and freighters navigating the river.
A standout feature is the Astoria–Megler Bridge, a towering steel structure that spans the river, creating a dramatic backdrop as ships pass beneath it. The mix of industrial history and stunning coastal scenery makes this trail a must-visit for those looking to experience Astoria’s deep-rooted connection to the sea.

Damn that's a big anchor. Yeah I know I often have a story and here he goes again. But....I have another..... :laughing7:
100% true.
My father in the Australian Navy.
They naturally went to many ports in his time.

Is that a Isuzu made engine? Anyway thats a beast output whomever makes it.
Yrs ago I got a Nissan Xtrail diesel. 2 litre. At the time it had more go, nutes, than the Toyota Hilux here and more go than others bigger. Power to weight ratio it was a pretty crazy little diesel. I did a drag from start against a Ford Ranger whatever its name was at the time supposedly the highest newt diesel at the time. The engine in my Xtrail was a french made in collaboration with Renault. Ultra light Xtrail vs the at the time Ranger. I left him for dead. I actually saw his face drop in my rear view. That thing flew. Manual, more grunt than the auto. I loved that thing. Turbo screamed. SSSSSSssssssss..... gone. 😂
Was a very very underrated engine here at the time. Had a lot of fun driving it.
The power to rate ratio. 👍👍
