Im thinking at some point. A wall or something ran along that creek. Just looked outta place. There is another creek that drains into the 1 in the pic. It also has some stacked stone along a few parts of it.
Someone put them there,but I have no clue why? Maybe a flood wall?

Seen Turkeys, a big Coyote, Fox, Mink so far this this winter.

Not a single deer crossing yet, so they must be hunkered down on one side or the other.
Though I have been trying to expose some field for them to munch on some green.
I saw a lot of tracks yesterday but at 32F the brain said don't plat out here or you will be walking back out of here.
The foot plus of wet snow really was heavy to push around.

Pulled the ATV out, then the 8ft Renegade snow blade.
Then pulled the ATV back in, started the tractor up.
The guy was on time. Lifted the blade but we were 6 " short for height
Just push the end down, I'll back up (How about you push it down-I'm thinking)
I could almost get the end up, so he helped and it was on 2"
We tried again now 3 ft

Now I'm lifting the other 5ft that's hanging, he's backing up with the F350.
Ya right Pushed me back 2 ft WHOA!
He gets out helps push now 6 ft on
I use the tractor now and you back into the bucket. DONE!

Have you ever put so much effort in something...
I could have puked as it was frigging heavy.
But it's gone out of my life finally.

Did my pickup this AM, snow storm off the lake, highway was 50 mph slower going across the top of Kingston. City was crawling also.
Managed to pick up the front end parts for the Mazda.
Weighed the 2 gold lots and it need me $870 so that was a nice return.

Overall a productive day- Tomorrow another pick up so I hope it doesn't snow.

Plowed the road and three drives yesterday. Didn't plow my own.
That doesn't seem quite right.
Shoveled. Broomed. Oh boy did it snow after that!
So cold it's fluffy snow.

High school days/daze.
An acquaintance's Dad was rumored to have put a truck plow in the bed of the truck by picking it up and setting it there.. Ya right.
Now that fellow student was big guy. Not plump but just plain big and tall.
We were sitting (smoking) in a vehicle at lunch break in the school lot when said students Dad showed up and so fast before anyone could react ; snatched his son out of the back seat through the open window. (!)
Later there would be insistent claims his Dad did it one handedly. There wasn't much if any argument against them .
I for one was slightly more convinced the snowplow rumor might have been true.

( I used a hydraulic jack to move part of my plow last year with most of the plow resting on concrete. )

Morning all xx hope all is good and ur making it thru January.. the longest month of the year! After our cracking start to the year, we have since been benched these last few weeks due to either frozen solid ground or torrential rain 🤨 xx
I think this has to be our worst winter since we’ve been detecting… hey ho, one day the sun will shine and the fields will be mine again.

Got a confirmed Id on a ring I found last year, and my silver seal will be brought by a museum…. So that’s very exciting… will put them in a post later xx

Some people are just freakishly strong. My father was one. I was fit and considered myself pretty tough when younger but was never in the league of my father. That's probably the standout thing I remember about him. That and his ability to swim for ages underwater on a single breath. Ex Navy man. Id just watch him keep going back and forward in a pool wondering when he was going to come up. Grew up tough through the depression yrs, didn't get a pair of shoes till he was about 10, worked on a fishing boat at 16, joined the merchant navy yr or two later, then went into the Australian Navy after that. That generation grew up tough and it made them so, they didn't get tough and strong by choice or going to a gym, they lived it, unlike this powderpuff generation.
