Yesterday I got up and went for the annual blueberry picking.
Drove past the tractor supply outlet at a few minutes past 8am.
New replacement spindle for the 1973 Ford 5000 was picked up.
(I think the old girl is sitting behind a wall of tall weedy hay)
Got to the patch @ 9:30 picked left @ 7:30 PM had to get gas. The mrs car holds 55 litres and I put 54.9 L in the tank. I was really kind of wondering if I would make it to the station.
Got home @ 9:45 PM.
Feel slightly bagged out this morning that's for sure.
But now we have 45 lbs of blueberries or about 38 quarts.
Strange happenings with the blueberries this year. There's farms that aren't opening even because the bushes didn't even blossom. My 25 little bushes had only a couple of blossoms.
The patch we have been going to was the worse picking year yet (over 10yrs).
They estimate probably 50% of the normal yield.
General consensus is because of the extreme drought/heat last year the bushes went into survival mode.
