One small item and one large one! First, every airgun I have owned was suppressed except one. It was a .177 cal (actually a true measurement) pump gun. It was hand clap quiet!

The second item, the biggest one to me at least, is using the word "Silencer"! No device, attached to a firearm, totally silences them. Even the WWII British De Lisle was not truly silent! Please folks, they're SUPPRESSORS not silencers!!!

Yep ! local shop can't keep them in stock.

Tried to wear a 15 yr old home schooled lad out today. 8 hrs of clearing brush.
He wants to be picked up at 9am-then off to the bait and gun store by 3pm.
54 yrs older but I'm tired after 6 hrs of saw, 2 hrs of brush piling.

It's been a while, so just checking in. Yeah I'm still alive, not that anyone noticed me missing
Back to getting things in an order around here hopefully. Now that wife's retired, I've almost convinced her into a Camper Van to do some exploring, I mean traveling, . Yes I have treasure hunting on the agenda as I've been waiting for this damn summer heat to scale back a bit first. So many hunts and now setting my sights on which one first 🤔
--List of Hunts 2026--
* The Secret (Roanoke casque)-- 2nd attempt April 22 with same results, no casque. Lost to the elements of nature (Pics provided)
* There's Treasure Inside -- 2nd attempt upcoming Sept/26 with more promising leads.
* 2 Civil war battle areas on private land (Civil War encampment) -- TBD after Rattlesnakes and gators hibernate. Yes we have them here.
* Artifact hunt on 1710 Indian and colonist battleground.
* More Gold panning before it's cold
* Researching a possible shipwreck, before I'm no longer able to dive, which I stumbled across as a kid. I'd just take satisfaction in recognition of the find for others to explore.
* Always more relic and bottle hunting around my hometown waterways.
Well that's a start and too much to cover before the end of year, but the drive is still there!
Excited to look back into the TN forums as to what you guys have been up to this summer. Hopefully all the disagreements have been settled between you skallywags 🤣... Has Bart hit the Motherload yet? How about Blossom and her notable finds? How about it Vike, RC, MxRat and Pepper, you guys seem to still be holding the Thread together I see? It's still so awesome to see this much uncovered treasure found on here these days.
I've recently caught up on some old information of lost treasure just in my own state. So much I was so unaware of. History that fell quiet and some that's being rediscovered.

Touched up a lot of the missing paint on the golf cart.
Hand sanded the previously filed on 1967 propeller patiently to near perfection. (Perfection to be avoided lest I be deemed haughty. That's my excuse anyways.)
First coat of rattle can enamel paint looked great. As did the prop.
Read can instructions for when to apply a second cost and the mix probably not mixed right by my actions blew clots all over. Somehow resisted urge to shoot the can of paint.
Brought the prop indoors and shut the polebarn up. Have not revisited. 48 hrs required before reworking it. Had the second coat been right I could be working on the lower unit instead.

Busy week scheduled. An ambitious 15 year old would be welcomed.

The kids that want to work are booked up totally. (High demand). 95% of the others have their lives buried in a screen it seems, and their hand out.

He has his PAL (Possession and Acquisition Licence)which allows him to sell ammo, write hunting licences at the store, but can't sell guns or own one till he's 18 yrs old.
Though he's going deer hunting this fall again.

In conversation yesterday while on the subject he stated " So many just don't get it. They're tools, not weapons. If they keep going it's only going to help the criminals, because they still have them and nobody else can."
This kid has some brains and can think for himself.

He's building his off grid little house, and has the structure almost completed. Not large (more like a bunk house) He said it's cost around $3000 so far and he expects a bit more.
It seems he's going to be an independent person in life. (he's a rare commodity in today's world of dependency)
