Thanks for the tip - I don't care if it takes a couple extra days - I DO care about doing it over 3 times. I don't hate sanding, per se, but, I really hate the kind of dust it makes.

I am rehabbing a house, and there are LOTS of corners to be done, inside corners and outside corners, but I have no timeframe to finish, so, when I get to the next set of walls, I will try your tip.

I wish I had a spanish fan to cover up my popcorn ceilings.

Sometimes popcorn texture can be removed from a ceiling by filling a sprayer with water and soaking it. Then you can take about a 4" drywall/putty knife and it will scrape right off. It's pretty messy and you will need to drop cloth the area, but it's pretty easy if there's not alot of coats of paint on it. Try it on a small section first and see if it will work.
I've also just re-covered the whole ceiling of ugly texture with 3/8" drywall and started anew from there...
