This has me wondering if it's worth it

I stopped into one of my usual dump banks yesterday and dropped off coins at 12:49 pm. I just read in the online paper that at 2:45 pm the bank was robbed by a man with a gun.
That's a bit close for my comfort. I'm going to cross this bank off of my list.
Anyone else have any close calls or actually been in the bank when a robbery was taking place?

My daughter and I were in this bank a couple of days before and scored a few 40%ers.

it's worth it- I think if all of a sudden you stop showing up, the bank may think you're suspicious, i would keep the bank just so suspicion does not hang over your head.

Lol, good one Brendan. Never been in a bank during a robbery but have showed up about 15 minutes after one.

One of the main reasons why I advise against forming patterns. Arrange to pick-up on different days, and dump on different days. Avoid the same route home, and even (if possible) using a different vehicle when picking-up or dumping to mix it up. Times are tough and people are desperate. People get killed for a lot less everyday in America. Be smart and be safe.

Bank robbery happens all the time. CRHers spend more time in bank's lobby than normal customers. It bounds to happen some day. I always check inside before I walk in and look around before I get into my car with money. Plus I am always packing heat inside my car!

Several years ago I was at a USbank... (not CRH'ing but this post made me think of it.) I figured i would share. It was pretty sobering, just makes you think.... I did whatever it was that I was doing and turned around to walk out... Noticed the guy standing in line behind me but obviously thought nothing of anything....... Well,,, He robbed the bank.... Robbed the same teller that helped me out.... It was crazy.

ya be smart and try to park near the door if you can. I always dump at "Main" branches because 1) its easier, bigger merchant window etc, they're used to massive coin volume and 2) they have multiple armed security guards, guns, tasers, etc.

but at the end of the day im not going to risk my safety for a couple bags of halves lol...

in CA lots of the banks are switching to these double mag lock doors now on the way in and out, basically its like an airlock in a sci fi movie. You go in and the second door wont release until the first one is shut, kinda hard to rob a bank when you cant get out haha!

Just think if you had dropped a bag of halves on the floor during a robbery, everyone would watch all thse coins rolling all over heck. Then with the robber busy watching that, you hit him upside the head with a second bag of halves. You would have a dump bank like no other forever and they would probably even carry them in from the car.

I would guess from reading the local papers in Las Vegas a lot of the branches of the banks have been robbed. So now it is a question of which branches haven't been robbed. A few years ago not many had glass between you and the tellers, now most do and they stick a tv in the waiting line to intimidate you. Or some have a sign at the door to remove your hat and sunglasses. Next there will be a sign to enter naked or to step into the machine the TSA at the airport uses.

Carry a concealed handgun if it's legal.
If your dumping at a machine while being robbed, just throw a handful of coins at'm and follow up with a hail of lead.
