The AT Pro does that in pro mode. The e-trac will also do that if set up correctly.

All of them the deeper the target gets quieter the tones r gonna get. That's y u need a nice set of headphones to hear those whisper signals.out of the machines ive used I found that the deus is the only one that has an option to make those whisper deep signals louder, but I don't use that feature often cuz it will confuse u thinkin its closer to the top then it really is

Some machines have a signal boost, that amps up any weak signals, to make them just as loud as the shallow signal. Like an amplifier, of sorts, where any whispers (any sounds, for that matter) all have the same "beep" intensity, regardless of deep vs shallow. The theory being, of course, that this will help the user to hear those deepies, rather than the risk of "missing them". Right? And for example you can adjust this as a user-adjustable option on the Explorer (and some other machines) by playing with the "gain" control.

While is might *seem* this is a great thing to have and do, it's not. You're much better off just using your ears to do this, rather than letting the machine amplify everything (IMHO). Because otherwise, after awhile, everything starts to sound the same. You have no way to discern deep vs shallow (when you prepare to retrieve) unless you start studying depth meters and/or switching to all metal to see, etc...

So most people don't like that, and ... instead, learn to listen to faint vs loud, etc...

As for which machines have which, how about you list a specific machine you have in mind, and then the users of that particular machine can chime in as to which type it is?
