I usually metal detect but have always loved searching for NA artifacts as well. I went out with a friend of mine that has a site he has been hunting for 30years and i found some of the best points i have ever found and a nice variety as well. It was definitely a great week out.

Do you have an idea on the type on the solo piece held in your hand? Has a Paleo/Transitional Paleo look to me, hard to tell with the image quality though.

Most of the points here in West Virginia were made with black Kanawha chert. I like it but it would be nice if we had a wider variety
