I just might load up all my tectors (except the ATP) and head to my dealer. See if we can't work something out. I should have just bought the damn thing last fall when I had it in my hand!

Ok I'm gunna be lazy and NOT use the search function. Can the Deus be used in the rain if the control unit is covered? Or is there an issue with its coil?

Yes,just remove the control unit (and put it inside your rain coat),or just leave it off to begin with, and use the head set under your hood on the rain poncho/jacket. Some guy's just use a zip lock baggie, and have the control unit in a cell phone arm holder. The coil is water proof!

Hello to everyone! I have some tips for the DEUS and a video:

In this video I demonstrate the difference between the deepest XP DEUS program, which is the RELIC program and the other programs. The tested object is a 20 mm silver medallion buried at 25 cm (10 inches). You will see that in this depth we have a detection only with the RELIC program. The difference between the RELIC program and the others is that the REACTIVITY is set to ZERO and this is the most important EXPERT settings which affects the detection depth. As well, we have the TX POWER = 3 in the RELIC program, but trust me, you do not need TX POWER greater then 2. It is tested and TX POWER = 3 is not deeper then TX POWER = 2, but it is more unstable. So, TX POWER = 3 makes the things worst. As well, if you set the AUDIO RESPONSE to 6 or 7 you will hear the deep signals better. And at the end, do not forget about the ground balance! Set the ground balance a little bit (3-5) lower then the PUMPING mode shows and you will hit one even two inches deeper! And believe me, set it properly and the XP DEUS is deep as the E-Trac in manual sensitivity mode and the PRO coil.

Nice video! Have you tried using "Tracking" for the Ground Balance?

Thanks! Yes, it is deeper then the fixed ground balance for sure, but I prefer to set it manually a little bit lower then the PUMPING or the TRACKING numbers.

How long has that setup been in the ground? Has it been rained on? Stepped on? Packed down?

Minelabs don't do well with freshly buried targets or air tests. They need the natural settings with at minimum 1 year in the ground to get optimal depth.

Hello! If you ask for my setup, as you can see in the video I am inserting the target in a tube. My e-trac is very deep machine, but I just do NOT use it in automatic sensitivity. This is the key for the e-trac detection depth.

The best tip I can give you is. If you purchase the XP DEUS, get Andy's book. It's a great "Insiders Guide" to the DEUS.

We give away the book with every DEUS we sell.

Yes..... Definitely recommend Andy's book! The manual is great to start off with but Andy's book goes into greater detail of the functions, settings and modes of the Deus and why and when to use them.
