Treasure Clue, can you help?

Hello everyone.....just wanted to make a similar observation as pancho had already noted. We are adding about 2 pages a day to this post. This obviously makes it very difficult for a newbie to go back and start from the beginning post. That causes newbies to post questions/clues that have already been covered.....does anyone see the cycle here. My suggestion is that any pictures and drawing as well as any discussions that do not directly relate to ATT clues be posted in another thread. I hope this isn't too critical but a lot of people can only check the net a couple times a day and at the rate we are adding posting.....there is no way they can stay up on the clues.......

Rock on !!!!

On 12gems.com they have posted what they say are the answers provided by MS to some of their questions.
One of those questions was :
"11. Would you please elaborate on, "The simple clues don't need any special knowledge to find or decipher"? Many are claiming things like Morse code could be considered special knowledge!? "

Supposedly MS answered :

"i dont consider a one time look up as 'special' knowledge anymore than
looking into a dictionary for the spelling of a word.
the intent of the statement was to say you dont need any unusual knowledge"

So it would seem morse code , binary codes, BCD, ASCII, etc. would not be deemed "special knowledge".

Gaines, I don't know if you (or anyone else) has realized it yet, but 25 is a very important number in the book. Try to find more little things on that page. Also, see if you can find anything that has to do with an E. See my first post (http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,4872.msg58103.html#msg58103) for an explanation.

Also, about the binary stuff, I'm a computer programmer, and so I know a lot of codes based on binary. Did you try BCD on it? it converts better to ASCII.

gman , 1 step ahead of you . for that very reason i put a new subject board up for pics.

was hoping someone woulf follow and put a subject board up for the newbies .... NEWBIES START HERE....to catch them up to speed . i know that the poem and bugs have been posted several times , but again they have to go back through all the posts to dig it up . i am refering to the original and verified poem and creatures list. any thoughts..

P.S. also a warning on the jet character. if no one wants to do this i'll try tonight . i've got to reorganize my pile of papers anyway.

Tsa,
More things on which page? Page 25 itself or the page I found the 25 on? I wasn't clear. Also, wish I knew what BCD and ASCII meant, but I have no idea. I have a code that have found, but don't know what to do with. Consists of a lot of e's and a's. Any ideas?

Minor point--

I don't see a dolphin or numbers on page 68 (not saying they are not there, I just don't see them). However, c'mon, those darklings are forming the shape of North America, Central America and South America, are they not? That is the first immediate thing I saw when I looked at the page.

I have added two new posts to the forum. One is the poem, again, please look it over to make sure that I have presented it in the most accurate manner. Second is the location of the hidden creatures throughout the book. For all you newbies, these are two pieces of information that you should have to begin your search. The meanings and importance of them are much debated.

Outside of that information, the rest of what you will find is something you have to research for yourself. Out of all the information in this forum, it is those two pieces of information that are confirmed by most of the forum.

One MAJOR word of caution. I know the information in those two posts is accurate, but you will need to confirm it for yourself as with ANYTHING you read in this forum. There is a TON of inaccurate information, and it is up to you to be vigilant in your search to differentiate what is fact, and what is fiction. Please realize that some of us have been at this for quite some time and are fairly well along in our searches. Do not get angry or resentful towards us if we are not open to helping you catch up. This is, for all intensive purposes, a race, and most of us got to this point with a lot of hard work. I will guarantee that you will be better off reading through the entire forum, as you will see the mistakes others have made, and will avoid the pitfalls many of us have fallen victim to.

Finally, the book has more than this forum in regards to tools to help you with your search. Go through it as much as possible. I would say that a good 90-95% of my discoveries have come from my own perusal of the book. This forum should and will help you look at the book in a variety of ways, and you will not learn or discover anything without applying what you learn here in the book. That's basic facts, no one is going to give you the solution here, and certainly no one is going to help you find a token before them.

Continued luck to all who have entered into this hunt. I'm having a great time, and it would appear everyone else is as well. Keep up the hard work, the great ideas, and the INCREDIBLE goodwill! ;D

I thought the rail fence cipher might be used as well.. but then I also realized if you had a couple of sentences to line up then you could also come up with the same results by just using anagrams.. especially if you were having a tough time getting things to line up...although if you could figure out how to line the sentences or words up for the rail fence cipher to work then that would be much easier...

Hint: Tackle Repositorys

I've been thinking about this anagram, and it's implications, especially now that we have another clue coming in a little over a week. MS revealed the solution to be . . .

Crystal Pook is thirteen.

A second anagram was discovered shortly thereafter,

Start cipher key in tools.

I am curious to know if this is pertaining to the hunt at large, or only for the crystal Pook. The apparent solution was the one provided us by MS. However, you cannot discount the second solution either. Still, I think it may pertain to Pook and Pook alone.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Here's a thought. I live in south east Texas. I can't walk 15 feet without running into another stupid tree. We got lot's of em...but for the life of me, I can not think of a single time I have seen a tree with a knothole in it! If it has a hole..it's because it's dead...if it's dead, it won't be around long! So I started thinking about how I would hide a 20 dollar gold piece so that a person coming from far away in some distant time could find it. It had to be a place not frequented by visitors including maintenance people that could be checked out on a regular basis to verify the coin was still there without drawing attention to the place. An interstate mileage marker seems to fit the bill. Thoughts?

Gemini,
I have heard the map theory, but what does it mean? How can locations other than the US help us? I will show you the dolphin. If you go to the first darkling on the left side, take HIS right arm and go to the point of his finger. That is the eye of the dolphin. The snout is further down his arm and intersects with the wing of the darkling below him. The tail is under the wing of the second darkling on the top. Do you see the shape?
Now, back to the second darkling on the top row. In between his arms, there is a "G". The top 3rd darkling's wing (right side) forms a "C".
Turn the book upside down and look. There are many more letters AND numbers to be found.

I bought the Sherlock Holmes book and The Gold Bug by Poe and the solution to the puzzles or ciphers were pretty much the same. Martin Gardner and Sam Loyd who both are also mathematicians have alot of the same type of puzzles in there books which have the answers to them, alot like the companion book .I tried to post a excerpt(?) of the Sir Author Conan Doyle book that has the summary of how Holmes came up with the solution, but alot like my typing skills,my computer skills are probably worse.

First of all i'm a first time poster Long time reader but i don't think another book would help you, just an opinion :)

Gaines: I see the Dolphin! Thank you. I also see what Gem sees, the map.

Have any of you seen the cat in the tree on page 86? You have to hold the page at an angle and do the magic eye trick. It's in the right hand side of the tree.

Me wonders how many other creatures are lurking?

do you consider the companion book to be another book? if not what about all the references he makes in the CB to other books, such as poe ? ......

PANCHO,

again you do fine work! i just checked out the new subject pages and see no problems. i think that should help.

Don't forget the snail is not an insect either, and technically neither is the spider (arachnid), but all save bird and sail are generically called bugs. I don't know if any of that matters, but it is amazing that most of the letters at the beginning of the alphabet are represented. Let's not blow this off until we think about it.

hey! have been lurking for a while since have had nothing to add. Til now!! But be warned ...you will be up all night. If you look at
tool page, darkling page & #42 fairy page from a distance of 4 to 5 feet you will be treated to the most amazing illusions, from animals to cartoon characters with everything in between.. Don't know what most of them mean, but there is corroboration on the token I'm looking for. The stuff is incredible..Oh, but you should view them in low light..no glare on the page...good luck

and if i'm not totally insane i think there's a 14th prize- a jeweled key...but i think that's just wishful thinking (not that i want another prize but that my work is right)

OMNI, I know . i just deleted it . jewels was kind enough to point that out to me . WHEW!! it really loked good on paper. thanks to all for keeping me in line . carol
