Treasure Clue, can you help?

Yesterday I got back from San Antonio. Along the riverwalk, which runs through the city, there are many ancient cypress trees--some up to 350 years old. I saw one that had an enormous hole in it, which I could not bring myself to reach inside as there could have been unfriendly (and jeweless) insects abiding. The most interesting incident was when I looked in an upscale accessory store along the riverwalk, which displayed in a locked case a jeweled grasshopper, butterfly, and snail (among others). These were not precious stones, perhaps just rhinestones, but it was enchanting to see them there.

Sorry if it's been mentioned before but I think it's important:? There is an arrow on pg 41 but I can't find anyone that can help me figure out what it is pointing to.? Look at the salt can.? The holes on the top form an arrow.? The reason I noticed it was because it was kind of extraneous to have both a pour spout and holes.? Maybe other arrows/indicators are identified in a similar way.? Any help with this would be appreciated

Thanks

freerider & all others: On the same page that we've been looking at (41), have you noticed the C, L, and E along the border of the page spelled out by the stems? Also, this is probably just a result of being in Arizona, but I think it looks like it says "AZ" in the bottom left hand corner? These things may or may not have significance but there are at least three things pointing to something in this pic. The Picken, the salt can arrow, and it looks like the leaf at the very top of the page is pointing to something as well. I wonder what these could mean? To add more confusion, look at the crumbs by the Picken's legs. There are clearly a few letters there...

Any thoughts?

AZLOCKED, The salt shaker , those are spilled salt , but all the times spent on this page i never noticed the arrow thanks you are right . Freerider was right though i think it's pointing to the sock on the fairy's head which is the one zac lost . I've been trying to figure out how thew letters fit into anything at all and so far no luck , but another thought i had was rivers ? I want to know if you can see the key in the spilled flour on the counter . I can see the point or end of the key pointing the the right side of the border. Also want to know if you can see the word CUT on the tree limb in the very bottom right hand corner ? the word is upside down . Let me know , carol

we should all pick a time to chat in the treasurenet chatroom they have in the upper left corner, work things out and talk things through.

I can see an object that looks an awful lot like a key in the flour. But the bigger question is how/what does it fit in. There are a lot of things that seem to be hidden in the illustrations, but if we could only find a pattern or a meaning behind some of them that may lead to us uncovering the "code". I would say that these illustrations serve at least on some level as maps. Whether they are large scale or very focused in the area that they represent i cannot say. I think that we are certainly on the right path to stumble across something though.

freerider: I have no problems sharing my ideas with you; just let me know a good time that works for you to chat.

i'm pretty much online most of the night, though, that'll change come monday, heading back home so it won't be as often that i'm on. (visiting mom for mothers day right now)

Azlocked , TRAPAPE started a HIDDEN KEYS subject pg and there are posted hidden keys . There is supposed to be one on pg 33 , but haven't found that one . I'm glad to see you see the key in the spilled flour . I'm wanting to get that posted also so hopefully monday. Did you see the word CUT onthe tree limb ?

CMSCHUT: Yes, I found the word cut spelled out in the branches.? Wow, that was really hard to pick up on.? It's funny though that the type of tree limb that it is written on completely surrounds the word "piece" and the missing e from on(e) in the border.? This means that if we follow your idea then we could cut along this tree limb and the word & letter would be completely nary (i thought it'd be fun to throw that in there).? Have you had any thoughts about the crumbs on the ground or the tea cup? Also, and this is where it gets really hairy, the link to this picture is the grotto illustration on 55. I have managed to find a few things in this one but not anything that shows an overall pattern.

Carol,

I think you are right about the maps. As to folding the drop cap "W" in half to see if the leaves would form letters, well, it didn't. I even colored them in to make sure. I scanned in the drop cap "T" and did a perspective skew to see if any letters might be visible, and all I got was "APRIL FOOL" - at least that's what my imagination saw. If anyone's interested, I'll post the resulting skewed drop cap here.

Here's a distorted map of the US applied to Yorah:

Wow, that is a cool map!I was just wondering how you decided to place the pictures together. I have a map I have been matching up to Yorah, it has major Highways on it. I have been able to match some of the branches to the hwys.

Major highways? Didn't think about that. As to placement, a lot of guess work. Figured where FL, ME, and WA had to be. Not sure about CA or TX. Besides, it ended up with a face in AR, and that's where I am! Really, though, CA probably needs to be squished in more. Will work on that later.

Hey, thats funny! I did concider a couple of places I had thought one might be.
I have been reading a book about Forest in the United States. It tells a lot about each Forest, I had found the Ouachita National Forest interesting. It has a trail called Trees of the Forest and another called Friendship loop.

If anyone wants me to find some trails or interesting places in the US I have some great
info books.

CEGODSEY , Great work ! I would be interested in seeing the drop cap box. I've been working on the leaves around the yorah tree you just posted , but tooooo many leaves .

HAPPY MOTHERSDAY TO ALL THE MOM'S OUT THERE .

Here's the drop cap W. Folded over with the leaves colored in.

Anything else you'd like me to do? I like doing this kind of stuff.

i'm going on 2 hunts this week, it'd be so sweet to find one! just a random thought from freerider

CEGODSEY , Looks good to me . I was staring at it to see if i could see anything else in it . I don't see april fools though was busy looking for critters . Thanks for posting it . I can't think of anything right now , but will let you know .

FREERIDER , Good luck on your hunts . Let us know how it all goes .

Well no token but I did find some clues in the area. I'd like to show all of them but that would give away my location. There is no doubt in my mind that the token is there somewhere. There were 5 things all within 1 square block that are in the book. I have a few fresh things to work on now, including a couple ciphers. I had a great time. Here is one of them and it's the least obvious of the 5. The most obvious was 20ft away from this one.
