Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Was able to get out for about two hours once I had dinner and put the son to bed. Some of the finds:
1) From the iron, not nails, but not sure what it is collection.
2) Silver plated fork
3) large earing, but do not think it's silver. No markings and not very heavy.
4) old brass key
5) old makeup compact with nice design
6 & 7) ** help ** this is what I was most excited for when I found it, but I'm not sure what it is. My gut said it had something to do with a button. It has good weight and color. Any have any idea??

Dan

My gut was right, it's the back to a button.

My first Indian head penny!!

Was able to get back to the same spot for another 2 hours tonight. I have two pretty cool finds. The first is my first Indian head penny and it is 1907 in great condition. Second is a cool old water spout.

Awesome, what program are you running? I took mine out for a first real hunt today, only found three keepers, two wheats and a 59 penny. Found alot of crappy ole Zincolns. Trying full tones seems a bit overwhelming in the yard that I was hunting. ..eventually I notched out 0 to 40 and that helped some, but was still digging a ton of can slaw, pull tabs, and Zincolns. Tried discrimination of 3 mainly, silencer 0, reactivity of 2. TX of 2. Thinking that I may need to go 4 tone or just use Deus fast program for awhile. I'm curious what other people are Notching?

On the top sticky thread I have posted my two custom programs. At this iron infested park I run my iron program and then switch to my CLEANDEEP program to hear the signal better.

Check it out!

You've heard me say it before, full tones is going to be frustrating to start with. I would go with 4 or 5 tones max. I see my 5-tone coinshooting programs in the sticky thread.

Nice hit on the Indian cent! You should revisit that site and keep going!

Very cool find with the Indian Cent.
