Wow, wished I had a decent USPS mail carrier.
My wife does this also to ship her dog outfits that she sells. I use the smaller lunch bags for shipping coins, cheap rings, etc. I cut the bottom of the sack out. I roll the item in bubble wrap to make it thick enough to qualify for a package and tape all edges of the bag for added strength. $1.93, and I have shipped 100's like this with never a problem.I have found the use of a large paper grocery bag, cut and turned inside out makes a good box cover for mailing, and generally can be free for the asking.

Takes me about 45 seconds to make a bag, bubble wrap is a 3" x 12" piece and I get the tape at Big Lots 220 yards for $5.00. I use about 2 feet total counting the label. I bought a case of lunch bags at a garage sale -500-Bags for a dollar, so my cost is pretty cheap. To me that sounds like a lot of extra work, extra tape, and bubble wrap - which is surprisingly not very cheap. These: (Amazon.com: 25 #000 4x8 KRAFT BUBBLE MAILERS PADDED ENVELOPES 4 x 8: Office Products) are less than 17 cents each and no work at all!

I am not calling you a liar, by any means, but 220 yards of bubble wrap for $5? That doesn't sound right for a few reasons. The box of wrap I have is pretty big and it only contains 175'. yours would contain 660' or 3.75 times more and 3.75 times bigger. How wide is the wrap? I dont think I could fit a box that big through my front door. Plus the 175' roll costs about $20, but yours cost $5?

Read again... he was talking about about the tape at that price...
Yea, I think I'm going to have to start buying boxes. My items are usually only 6-8 oz, and I'd feel like I'm ripping someone off if I had to charge like $6.00 to send something to California when first class it only costs $2.75. Thanks for the input everyone!
1st class compared to first class parcel?I didn't like the postage rate so I talked to my postal teller and she said get a certain size cardboard mailer and the rate will go down.
