Hi all, It's been documented that the masses are often right in a way that no individual can be. For example, this was tested out by having an entire town guess the weight of a cow. No individual got the weight correct, but the average of the 1600 townpeople's guesses was nearly exactly the weight of the cow. I want to try this with CRH's forecasting the value of silver. What do you think the price of silver will be in exactly 1 month? So we are talking March 28th, at 1:25PM. I will take the average of all answers and compare them to individual answers. Whoever is the closest I will mail a silver dime of my choosing, on my honor. However, the trick is you must also beat the average! If I'm right and this works, I get to keep my dime. IF I'm wrong and an individual beats the average, I will mail it immediately. Guess to the nearest cent, if you say something like $17, I will assume you mean 17.00

By the way, all answers must be received within one week to count!

no worries I can make an exception, especially someone from Lousiville :occasion14:. I've got your guess logged. This is why I could never be a subway operator I would keep opening the doors for the people running from the train!

Oh, cool... thank you!

:occasion14: cheers, man!

Whoops I didn't know. Guess I didnt feel like reading all 6 other pages :icon_study:

Well if you did you would have taken my geopolitical analysis into account of the silver situation in regards to the Ukraine.

You ever play risk? Well, god dang Ukraine is one of the worse places to be. Borders europe/asia. If Russia takes it again, Europe will loose the 5 armies it gets per turn. This is why it is such a big deal, -5 armies a turn for europe, russia stays the same. People freak out over these kinds of things, and decide to buy a ton of silver, the price will undoubtedly go up

I dont even think they call it "Ukraine" on the modern risk board any more.

Exactly right to the penny, and beat the average? I guess we can't complain much for a free contest.

Way off topic, but your signature reminds me of what my father always used to say... " Don't sweat the petty things, and don't pet the sweaty things".

That's funny, because almost EVERY boardwalk t-shirt ever printed in the early-to-mid 90's said:

"I don't sweat the petty things, I pet the sweaty things."

My guess is $19.80.

Well...based on a rough scan of our guesses...I would think our average is well above $19.80. I'm not sure what it was on March 28th, at 1:25PM.

I saw Digging n Dumps guessed $19.79....his birth year......that might be the closest guess that I've seen :dontknow:

By the way, my real guess was like $20.45. Congrats to Digging n Dumps if they in fact beat the average and Silverface didn't miss anyone.
