After six months of detecting and 44 trips to the beach, I finally found real gold. Turned out to be an 18k Cartier ring.

Update: It was a fake Cartier. And gold plated.

It has specific numbers engraved inside the ring, which can be checked with the Cartier website. Mine matches an authentic 18k ring.

The fakes are in many instances dead on.... it MUST be tested.... period.

I agree...I have found many of these....only one was cartier....but fake and counterfeit is different....my counterfeit was still made from 18k !! The other fakes were not even gold....they also had the official looking marks....I think i have about 6 fakes....I sold the original and counterfeit for good money !! They are one of the most faked brands out there !!

Better than me, I’ve found a lot of gold but never a Cartier Ring .. I hear that they are very expensive. Also just for the record, 18k is really hard to find in the USA… as most jewelry here is 14k (doesn’t mean it’s impossible obviously)

Yes, but I don't want to check to see if it's just gold; I also want to see if it's an authentic Cartier. I could get more for it as a Cartier ring than I could for the bullion (assuming I sell it).

You will have to do the research, or consult an expert/jeweler....you have not revealed the hallmarks so it would be impossible for anyone here to try and help you without an image of the hallmarks....it is not an easy ID even for the experienced people....the fakes and counterfeits are very good !!

I find 18k quite often here in the states ? True 14k is more frequent, but there is a thriving 18k jewelry market here in the states. Cartier, vanclef, fabrege, and many others are exclusively 18k !! Not 14k.

BTW, I have found several 18k chains myself, but most rings I find are 10k or 14k

🫡Well....if your finding the chains you are definitely on point and not missing much....you'll probably have a run of 18k now !! Let's hope so .... its out there !!
