Walt Gasslers Notes on Dutchman Legend

I was wondering if it would be OK with Roland if someone posted Walter's real notes on here for everyone to read?

Since this thread is about his notes some of us don't have them. I never looked for them as I thought after the Unsolved Mysteries show they had been given to the fake Roland Gassler. If Roland's still on here maybe he could post them for free so we don't give our money to other unfavorable sources that don't have permission to sell them.

Bill,
Are we 100% sure about this?

Hal,

That's amusing, asking him if he's 100% sure......about anything. What possible difference could it make?

Good luck,

Joe Ribaudo

Makes a big difference. Are you convinced that the museum did anything wrong? I don't see it and only asked for clarification.
Mr. Gassler's estate was responsible for enforcing copyright violations if there were any. That could have been done at any point over the years with one letter from a decent attorney.
Perhaps they did, I honestly don't know.

At the end of the day, if there is no enforceable agreement, Roland should secure the rights if possible and find a reputable publisher.
Or, self-publish.

Hal,

I wouldn't presume to tell Mr. Gassler, or his family, what they should do. I do assume, if that's a course that is open to them, they have already considered it. On the other hand, I do know that Greg Davis is very thorough in acquiring items for the museum, having donated some things myself.

Not many (if any) "reputable" publishers would be interested in a book with such a limited numbers of buyers. Dr. Glover can probably give you more information on that subject.

Hope you had a great Christmas and are looking forward to a Happy New Year!

Take care,

Joe

Hal

Did you that hike at Weavers Needle this fall ?

Hal

Did you that hike at Weavers Needle this fall ?

It didn't happen and will not in 2015.
But, 2016 is within sight and I am preparing.

I am actually sewing an over-sized custom bedroll for the trip.
I have never used one before but there has to be something better than a tent.

Will you go this year?

Joe,

You might (or might not) be surprised at how much interest something like that might garner, but TIMING and advertising is everything. I was shocked at how many people had bought Helen Corbin's Books. Nothing against her. I just didn't think that thousands of people would buy a book (more of an encyclopedia) about a mine that many people don't believe exists.

Take Care - Mike

No , I'm not going soon . I'm waiting for Matthew results on the LDM research . Also my " Spirit " is always there .

I'm willing to go there myself if you two could use some company.

Marius doesn't have a bedroll. As long as your willing to share he can buddy up with you in your "Custom over sized double duty bedroll" .

Me? I'm going free balling Commando style and my wife is going free buff. That way we don't worry about using ours for a TEE-PEE when we run out of wip-ees.:laughing7:

Seriously, I hitch-hiked across the USA a couple of times using only an oversized, overhead sleeping bag and a tube tent. You can't get much worse than that, but, I was toasty and warm even under snow.

That's white lie Dutchman Snow of course!

If you make your way out here Hal it would be my pleasure to escort you on a real treasure site if your game enough for it. I guess you would be after a few days sleeping under the needle without a shower!

Hard to tell from reading this thread.

Thank you. I had a quite Christmas but will make up for it on New Year.
Joe, for 2016, I wish you strong health, continued passions, and true happiness.

And a few bars of gold.

Hal

Stay away from Bill's Powers . The real treasure site is only a pretext to bring you in his tent .

Now seriously , if you will go and if you want , send me a PM to give you a spot close by WN to give a look .

markmar,

I think that several of us have our ear to the rails waiting on Matthew.

Hal,

You might want to be very careful, what with your ear on that rail. That noise you are hearing is probably an oncoming train.:dontknow: The sound of that train will sound really good from an easy-chair in your front room, but if your head is still on those tracks when the train gets there, it won't sound so sweet. Conductor
don't care who's on that track, he's just got to get to the end of the line. Sounds like a good Country Western song in there somewhere.:laughing7:

Take care,

Hi Kraig,

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and have a great 2016.

I do wish you were still posting here. I miss your historical perspective and true facts. Believe you could add a great deal to the Gassler topic. Most of us can't or don't want to spend the time that you have in your source's collection. Probably the best collection on the LDM in existence......anywhere. If you should want to talk, you have my email, as well as my phone #.

Good luck,

Joe Ribaudo

Which is why we have scheduled station stops.
One of my goals for 2016 is to focus on the quality (accuracy) of the information being provided and less on the source (personality) providing it.

Joe,

I think right now, Matthew is on Peter's Mesa. He said he was planning on spending a while out there.

Hal,

That may be good for you, but you may end up chasing down a great deal of garbage that way. One of the good things about high quality sourcing, is that you can spend less time looking where it ain't. I doubt anyone will have much success focusing on what known criminals and proven liars have to say. The fact that their stories look good, is all about reverse engineering, IMHO.

For instance, someone may show you a ceremonial spear hidden in the mountains. It would be easy to make the assumption it's Apache and the real thing. On the other hand, it's more than possible that person made the "artifact" himself and placed it in that crevasse.:o:dontknow:

Good luck,

Mike

gollum,
I am not sure why you would make that information public unless Matthew already had done so and I missed it.
If so, forgive me and please ignore this.

Peter's Mesa is a difficult, dangerous hike and I would discourage anyone from trying it, especially trying it alone.
My thoughts (concern) this week are for Matthew and his safe return.

Which is why I keep one ear on the rail.
