I have to say that I've yet to see any spam here. I know what a good job is being done as I used to moderate on a solar forum.:occasion14: At times it'll come in huge waves and around Christmas/New Years is a popular time for the attacks or at least it was several years ago.

My hat's off to the mods here.:goldtrophy:

We're Catching allot of it while they are activating their accounts.
but allot depends on time of day as to whether they slip one or 2 in.

& yes it seems to Be in Waves.

From what I seen on Google.
There can be 5 or 6 of them Following each other around the
net signing up to the same forums one right after the other.
Or it could be 1 person with 5 or 6 separate names and country IP's
They come from all over the World, But post the same type of crap for streaming sports.

there also seems to be a Group Seeding, who sign up but don't activate till Later.

We have had that "Group Seeding" on the site I moderate on. When they join if they have no hits on the StopForumSpam site and aren't a obvious spammer they get accepted and then can lay idle for over a year before starting their BS!

Yes That's part of the Problem :(

I suppose we should Ban everyone who Signs up but doesn't Post,
But then we would be loosing members who Signed up , but just weren't ready to share

I actually signed up in 2012 and u til 2016 I think I may have posted only about a hand full on here.

I had actually been on alot but it was easier to find my answers alone through threads that already existed.

Everyone from my Team is also on here and I have never seen them post a single thing, nor my wife. I also have a few other friends around Europe and at best they have only posted a couple things. But when I check they are on here a few times a week, or they will send me an email or call me asking if I saw whatever posted on Tnet.

This site in its self is a treasure trove of knowledge, I can think of a few users on here who seem to know just about everything, recently I was on a thread a bloke out of Lativa posted, founds many of the same things he found but never knew what they where, however the user Makydon (something like that) was just nailing them. Then the mods here are very user full too and take a proactive stance in assisting us with finding nearly anything one could ask for.

This site is not one of those that one must post on to figure things out at all, and I am sure there are hundreds who visit this site every week but have rarely ever posted anything.

My personal views on the site, I think Tnet could get away with charging an annual fee, even if it is only a buck, so what it is well worth it. But I think Tnet cuts their own throat in regards to donations, I have actually asked this once and was referee to the charter member sign up. There should be a place to just donate if we want for nothing in return.

The spammers seem to post links as soon as they join.
I think members that sign up and then not post, read threads, learn.... gain info...Or are like me shy.

not all. some come in activate their accounts then leave.
only to pop in at a later date and start spamming from them.
which is what I meant by seeding.

I have seen them use the tactic of joining and then posting a ton replies that seem bland and unrelated to the topic but aren't anything against the rules. Then at a later time they add their spam into a tagline.

I notice a lot of sport links. I "reported" a UFC fight last night!
Not that there was a fight, but the fact that there was a link.....:laughing7:
