I was just at the bank making a deposit and this penny showed up in the change from the teller. When i saw it i couldn't believe it, It looks like it's mistruck,

So i asked the teller and she just laughed and said i got one of the banks weird penny's. Did i want it or do i want a new penny.

I said it was kinda cool and asked if she had any more. Well the she called over the manager and asked him and he said they recieved a whole bag full, DID i want any of them because they were going to send them back. I said i'd take a look and they have about 1000 coins. All mistruck.

I told the manager that i wanted them for Christmas gifts so he sold me a bag of about 1000. Now does anybody know what there worth.

Killer bud, now the good things happened again. Can't believe it. GREAT find. Time to send the branch manager and the teller a thank you note. Make it understated, but let them know you are willing to take advantage of any other such deals. Tom you made a killing. HH Stan...

Just curious. Are they all off-center strikes or are there some other error coins also mixed in there?

actually i've found four coins with double images on the same coin. like it was hit twice. Here's a pic. I think their called double strikes?

It's a little hard to see, but there's the start of another coin.

Re: What are these worth-extra pics

Here's one with three hits on the same blank, there's no real identification, but it's kinda neat

I don't know if it's more valuable or not

Check with the experts before listing on EBay. Posting them as valuable, rare, or anything misleading may come back at you. Theres a lot of people out there selling counterfeit coins and such.

WOW!!!! What a lucky find!!! You can count me in for some if you decide to sell a few to us here on TN. HH all.

Sparky.

What fantastic luck!!! You'll easily make a four-figure profit from some well written eBay ads. Perhaps offer sets of four or five different years? The double struck ones will bring even higher prices. If any buyers on eBay doubt the authenticity send them a pic of the whole bag.

:o :o :o :o :o I BET THAT YOU CAN KNOW BUY A GREAT METAL DETECTOR AFTER YOU SELL THEM!! CONGRATS :o :o :o :o

From the same book,a close centered double-strike has a value of 15 dollars and up. It should be double struck on both sides. Also, just to let you know, some error coins can be worth 200.00$ or more. You might want to purchase a coin book that has a section on mis-strikes or error coins.Again, great find!

Thanks to all, your positive feedback, support, knowledge is very much appreciated. Wow what support.

Tom,

Incredible. Way to go!!!

Unheard of, til now.

You are one lucky person!

Tom..

Like everyone else has already said..WTG!!!!

many error coins are really sought after. Don't get in a hurry to sell them you only have about 10 bucks invested :o

Dave

I hang on to those for awhile.. they WILL go up in value, esp if you have a whole bag full! What an awesome find!

leave them in the bagies, rent a safedeposit box put them there and leave them ontell you are old, you can retire ...........mpfish.........

Wow!!!! Those are pretty neat. Strange that the bank let you have them but I wouldn't argue. Now that you have the bank working for you, tell them to call you anytime they get silver in also. ;D

I think you should send one to everyone who replied to this thread,up til now! ;D ;)
Don't forget,if you do sell them on Ebay,let us know,please! :)
