The blog where I found this pic had a comment that said something like, "Moroccan locks make great gifts." Not sure I agree but obviously these are brought back by tourists.

Maybe they're like Mexican sombreros.

I do believe it was brought back by tourist. But I think it is actually from a home and used. I had a friend that had the whole doors shipped back from India on some old homes homes they were tearing down

We had a thread on T-net last year (or the year before) about those doors from India. Interesting stuff... I don't know why someone would buy one... But, then again, I bought a big Mexican hat...
