What's Your Best Find In Your Own Yard?

I keep seeing threads from people finding cool coins and relics in their own yard. I've only actually detected mine once, and I did find a musket ball. I can't even tell you how many times I've driven over an hour somewhere to detect and come up empty handed, atht's why I get such a kick out of seeing people find good fings in their own yards.

Unfortunately, cover to the waste water cleanout thought cache at first dangit. Had to sell the detector a few weeks ago so I'll try it again when i get another one.

Nothing great in my yard , some 60s and 70s pennies dimes and a couple quarters , but i still get out there once in awhile to check it out !

4 years ago I found an old revolver frame, most of it was rusted away. Looked to be a .32 caliber top break. I tried to find it the other day and don't know what i did with it.

Since I've been fortunate enough to live on ten acres in central Virginia where quite a bit of civil war history occurred, the current list includes an 1838 dime, an 1850 large penny, a five cent shield nickel of indeterminate age, a nose cap from an enfield musket, a hammer from an enfield musket, 20 or 30 various cw bullets, two dozen spencer cartridges, an intact spencer cartridge and bullet, a compass circa 1918 and an arrow head! As soon as I figure out how, I'll post some pictures.

my very first hunts were all in the yard of my childhood home.trying to get the early bfo relco detector that i had just built from a kit[w dads help].this was in the days when u had to carry a transistor radio along tuned to a certain freq.and listen to the pitch change.! i found a toy gun made of lead follwed by mountains of scrap.but it hooked me.recently hunted there again .dad refuses to leave the old homestead.since 1958.this time to try to find the brass screw that goes on the bottom of the gas bowl to his lawn mower where he was working on it. found it right away.he was so happy to get it back he took me for a king size mex dinner at my fav place. the buried box of rifles gets my vote for most enticing.

LOL, isn't that the truth! I love the summers because it gets light out so early and I can get out the door while my wife is still asleep!

An old early 19th Century Cross about 6 inches long, even though our family had built the house on the property in 1980, and the closest ANYTHING to where our house was dating anything older than 20 years was an old wagon trail about 100 years old about 500 yards away. Now, that was a shock.

My best find in my front yard is a 1927 Silver Dollar. Indian Head Penny's from the 1865 - 1900s. a few Barber Quarters.

My yard is made up of 4 inches of red rock toped with 2 inches of grass, so detecting it is not the greatest of pleasures. To date I have found a dime that I must have dropped the day before I found it and that is it.
