What's your avgs. For wheat cents a box. Do you think 1k is a reasonable goal for 2013?

I average 20 - 25 wheats per box. Given that average, you should have to open 4,000+ boxes. Maybe $100 is more realistic? That would be 400 boxes, or 1.2 boxes per day.

I ment 1k of coin not 1k in dollars

Dawg getting 1k ain't hard at all

Ya was thinking 1k Wheaties and 1 IH would be my goal. And then to figure out how many war nikels

Oh sorry about that. You can easily get 1,000 wheats. That should take you 50 boxes or so. Go for it!

I usally get about 10-15 a box..But once I picked up 26 solids rolls of wheats.....Soooooo that threw my yearly average off that year.

Ya I want to hunt for war nickels but pennies are so much cheaper.

I don't know about 1,000 wheats in 50 boxes. I guess it depends onwhether you are back east or not. Here out west, I only did 79 boxes of pennies this past year and found exactly 726 wheats and 1 IH. That's 9.190 wheats per box. Also found about 38,000 copper pennies, or 19.241% give or take.

Here in the midwest I average 7.25 wheats per box, and about 26% Copper. No way would I have the patience to do the volume necessary to obtain 1,000 wheats. I've found 533 in the last year and a half, with 4 IH's.

Thorne - are you sorting by hand or using a machine? That would be the easiest way to meet your goal.

I usually average about 10 wheaties and 10 canadian coins every 2500 pennies.. I live in Illinois though.. Only been going to 1 bank. I have gotten 1 Indian Head:) 1900

dawg, if I worked 7 days a week, I'd get 1000 wheats in less than a year. Some boxes, you get over 2 rolls of wheats, the best I heard of was almost a full box of wheats. homie if you like wheat's then by all means collect them. I get so many from c/r/h/ing, that setting goals ain't fun cause they can and will be broken.

This gangsta speaks da truth. I see wheats at my job all the time. I once had a box with 115 wheats in it yo

that's enough wheat to bake a loaf of high quality wheat-bread! wheat's for the working man em, thats what I'm sayin

My wheat averages have slumped from 18 keepers per box down to 6 keepers per box, it's quite sad to see 1/3 what you were pulling the same time a year ago.

The average for wheats is 1 every 300 coins in MWR so that's 1 every 6 rolls. So if a box has 50 rolls then you should find 1 every 8 1/3 rolls. You all must have people in your area dumping collections or change that has been collecting for years.

My best box was 35 wheats but that has only happened to me 1 time in the last 5 years of off and on CRH.

I average about 3-4 wheats per box. My best all-time box had 8. Most people on this forum average better than that. Good luck!

According to my records, I've been through 1,001,700 pennies ($10,017), in which I've found 4316, wheats, 721 pre-60's Canadian cents, 13 Indian Head cents, and 1 1858 Flying Eagle Cent. Of course, I've found some big collections over the years, which bumps up the averages a lot, good luck!
