Well I'm very excited to say the least that I finally got permission nailed down on a property I've been looking at for years.
I had a chance to quickly walk the property today just eyeballing to get a feel for where I would like to spend my time when I get there on Thursday with my metal detector.
Too bad the musket flint is broken but it's the blade type so it wasn't that thick to begin with

With those two first pictured finds, there a chance of some really nice goodies waiting for you and the detector! Good luck and post em' if ya get em.

Thanks! will do

Good Luck on the new site!

Thank you

Nice eyeballed finds ! Cool example, and finger grip on the worked black glass. Man, you are gonna have some fun with your detector on that apparently early site. I am thinking early silver, and will be watching for your posts of finds. HH

I feel like a kid at Christmas.
Thanks

I laughed out loud at your last post, hope you do really well!

Hehe.. I hope I didn't offend anyone.. Was just lighthearted razzing.
Just bought a bunch of bottled water and fresh batteries.
Thanks

Hey we can settle out of court, just send me a few dozen of them amber flints.:laughing7:
Go have serious fun Gator.

Nice example of worked glass! It looks like you have your work cut out for a little while.

Do I see some very old copper in the back top right? Love that stuff. HH
Edit: I meant archaic copper.

Dug lots of old copper pieces this isn't really the right forum for most of this.. I will say the property is absolutely scattered with oyster shells crockery Native American pottery and European glass

Cool getting permission on a property. Really makes it nice to be able to get out and relax. Good luck hope you find some nice artifacts.

Lucky you! Good eye on spotting the flaking on that piece of glass. Most folks wouldn't have caught that.

Thanks RGINN

I am on a good site and have always found a lot of the worked black glass, but I didn't think it was from the time period. Guess I should go back thru my stuff and look more closely at them? What did the indians do with the glass? Just curious, thanks!!!
