I do get lucky once in a while.. Out with the Tejon today and to be honest, itā€™s not my favorite Tesoro. This is one of the newer black ones but I actually had a hotter gray one before. Sold the gray though, as it didnā€™t have a warranty in my name. I bought this black one new and sent in the card, so I figured it should be the one I keep. Got this Tejon with the Widescan coil, but put a concentric on it. Why? Because the discrimination works better. Anyway, I wanted to do an area I do every year ā€˜cause people play there every year. Iā€™d probably gone over this same spot with other Tesoros before but probably also had the disc up higher too. This year I decided to dig more tabs and keep disc just below nickel. I still havenā€™t found a ā€œbuffā€ but remain hopefull. Maybe this year. Second disc is set to just below screwcap to see if it could be a better coin.. I really donā€™t want zinks, but Iā€™m fine with a solid ā€œroundā€ signal above zinc.
Todayā€™s treasure made me do the dance.. This is my third ā€œqualityā€ ring so far this year, and I havenā€™t even been getting out much. Just about to go home when I dug this - it sounded really good at the main disc setting, unlike a blaring and scratchy pulltab. It was gone at my second disc setting thoigh, so I was curious. This one was about 3ā€ down. 14K, with a rock. Has some funky makers marks inside; need to look ā€˜em up. I just got home and havenā€™t even cleaned it off yet so Iā€™ll put more pics up later. My daughter who was out there too with her Compadre took these pics for me.

As we know - itā€™s about the location - and how much trash youā€™re willing to dig. At my main disc setting (just below nickel) this sounded loud like a big coin and smooth; not blaring and scratchy like tabs. Toggled to second disc and it was gone so I knew it wasnā€™t a big coin, like it sounded at main disc.. Lots of trash around this spot, but it sounded pretty ā€œdig-ableā€.
That particular spot where I dug it is an annual snow play area. When hands are numb, things do fall off.. Found a nice gold bracelet right near there a couple years ago.

Those new-fangled things are for squirrels that can see - wouldnā€™t help me much.. ^_^

I'm ready for test results on the Deeptech Vista X. Have always loved to hunt discrimination with a threshold.
I could hear and identify a target much better with analog verses digital.
