of course it would be funnier if after they give it to him,
they are charged with Delivery by the feds :laughing7:

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Police in Tacoma could soon be in real trouble over pot.
The department could be found in contempt if they continue to refuse to return a small amount of marijuana seized from a man after a traffic stop. Municipal Court Judge Jack Emery repeated an order to police Thursday to return the drug to Joseph L. Robertson within seven days or they could be found in contempt.
"Appeal or comply," Emery told assistant city attorney John Walker. "Or next week, show up, and I would advise you to bring counsel."
The judge first ordered police to return the drug on Feb. 28, but they have refused, The News Tribune reported Friday

Yep! I think they smoked it.
But probably only to find out if really was 'pot'!:icon_thumright:

They sold it to the cops in Oregon who were too stoned to respond to that poor lady's 911 call, and she was raped.

Considering that possession of <1oz. is legal in WA, it's possible that
they shouldn't have confiscated it in the first place. In this case it was before
the enactment of that law, however the owner of it had a valid medical document,
meaning it was legal to have it in his possession back when he was first arrested.

If the cops had respected the man's legal status to have it, then none of this crap
would be going on now. The extra costs associated with them not returning it is
sucking public money that the courts could use for much better purposes..like
busting meth labs. etc.

The judge has made his decision and the police are not above the law, no matter how they may believe they are. Personal opinions do not come into play in matters of the law. They have been ordered to return it, and I hope the judge makes good on finding them in contempt if they fail to be good citizens and follow his mandates.
